Hi. I wanted to share this with you as I was able to find boots on Amazon that can be transformed into Obi-wan's boots.

This is what they look like new out of the box:

I had been in search of boots and all the popular boot makers online were backed up on orders and I was given delivery estimates of 6 months to 1 year.
Rolling Eyes

These boots are 100% leather and cost $170 (size 12), then I bought some Veg Tan leather, velcro and dye from Hobby Lobby for $55 all in, and with a little time and sweat, I now have a pair of high quality boots for $225 and the best part...I didn't have to wait 6 months or more for them. Mr. Green

These boots were too tall so I cut them down at the top about 1", or just below where you see the stitched on leather at the top edges of the new boot.

I used paint thinner to try and remove the chocolate brown color but it only got about 3 shades lighter...then I applied oxblood color leather dye to them, and once that dried, I put on a coat of "Cordovan" kiwi shoe polish to darken them down a bit.

Below is what they looked like before the red oxblood dye (and cutting them down more, I cut them down to the visible stitch line) The boot on the left is what they look like before the oxblood is added, the boot on the right is in progress of paint thinner so the gloss is knocked down, but I wanted to take a before pic:

I made the spats and ankle strap from Veg-Tan leather from Hobby Lobby and dyed it a dark brown (2 coats) and then a coat of oxblood, then the shoe polish. I added velcro to the boot, spat and ankle strap, so everything is removable for easy on/off of the boot.

What you see below is my final result:

They are actually darker than they appear in these photos in person, closer to the reference photos imo. I think thats what I love most about them, is they are always a different shade of red/brown.
