Jumping all in! I have several 501st costumes and figured it's time for another RL besides the A-wing. Been reviewing the wips and other areas of info. Thanks to Jaime for the guidance to date
Ordered lifts(High Stepper - currently on sale!) and braces to get that started. Then on to the mesh suit. |

Stand about 6'2" so will be reducing the steppers. Hope to get started on this next week.
I reside in Brown County, IN. Member of the 501st(Bloodfin Garrison) 13 years with a Sandtrooper, ESB Vader, and Tusken. I believe this will be the states first Chewie, though we have a couple awesome Wookies that travel from the North and Ohio. |

I've seen a lot of comments referencing a pajama pattern for the mesh suit. Any particular pattern better than others? |

Welcome to the hair club!
I used McCall's 5592, it's an easy pattern. I used the extra large to get the size that I need because I have added hockey shoulder pads underneath. _________________ A Wookie leaves a little of themselves everywhere they go |

Thanks! Still figuring out which route to go with the shoulder pads so will take that into consideration also. |

Hair is on the way along with the mesh and lifts. Can't seem to find that pattern(5592), looks to be an older one
Also, I assume will have to use something along the seams for the mesh suit...? |

Received about 40 bags of hair, mesh for the suit, and final piece of the lifts. Also picked up the pattern to use for the mesh suit. Still need to grab some hooks and shoulder pads (nothing locally available). Hope to have the lifts completed this weekend then that will be it until after DC.

Feet by Jamie came in while away at DC! Hope to get them coated/painted this weekend. Ordered hockey shoulder pads yesterday and apparently on my door step right now! Still looking into the hip/thigh pads.

My two Cents. I use a costume muscle suit that you see during Halloween. If you are going for a Chewbacca, he is very thin and not a Bigfoot body type.
But..... it also depends on your actual body type. |

Right, not bulking out, just keeping everything in proportion to the legs. |
