Hi all!
There was a recent TLJ Resistance trooper submitted for approval and due to the wealth of references and quality of the costume, its going to be approved without a CRL. However, I'd like to kick off the discussion on this costume so a CRL can get nailed down.
Lets start with a preliminary list of components.
Headgear:
-Olive green field cap with goggles
-Screen accurate blast helmet with or without face shield and visor
Torso:
Olive green hooded anorak with front pouch and optional greeblie on left chest.
Belt:
PLCE belt in olive or sand. Optional buckle with accurate greeblie. Optional pneumatic couplers sewn on to belt.
Pants:
Medium to dark brown pants with sewn on color matching knee pads. No cargo pockets are present. Pant legs are tucked in to boots.
Boots:
Medium to dark brown mid-calf boots with no buckles.
Equipment:
Black mesh scarf
Sterling SAS assault pack modified to match screen reference
Seven pocket Sten magazine bandolier
TE4.4 Field Quadnocs
Blaster (when allowed by state law)
EL-16
EL-16HFE
Resistance DH-17
Glie-44
DT-15
Take a look at the list and name off anything else you've spotted on this costume and provide references! _________________

There is an option for a poncho type top . Possible made from a Russian plash palatka or a Belgium or German poncho
There are different caps, that have ear and neck cover, I believe these may be vintage Russian Afganistan caps, some with the neck cover some without . These are not used in there original colour.

In this image you can see pants/trousers are in shades of olive drab/green as well as the brown.
A number of types of gloves are worn also.some are like the pilot gauntlets and some are more like padded combat gloves.

I have an approved TFA trooper, but would love to know what this helmet is (still). I have been trying to source it for two years now and no helmet I can find is similar. I have a feeling it is a custom build. The basics from TFA are still in this trooper too, just with more options. Pretty cool! _________________ Todd (Toda) - former RAID XO (2017-2019)

It does look like a custom build. I'm taking a crack at sculpting the Crait version. Can't wait until next week, when I can examine the screen stills over and over and over again LOL |

I believe the boots are Po-Zu boots...same as some, if not most, of the TFA... _________________ Todd (Toda) - former RAID XO (2017-2019)

The chest greeblie does not appear to be universal, judging by the "Sergeant Derham Boyce" photo posted above. _________________

Good point. Making it optional. _________________

Upon close inspection, it may be just like the DPM gloves re-dyed for the FO Tie Pilot. It has the reinforced knuckles and possibly the strap and buckle at the wrist. The picture of Guard Saile Minnau shows similar details. I will find pics of my dpm gloves and post them here. |

Here's a few pics comparing the gloves on Guard Saile Minnau to the UK DPM Assault gloves. These gloves were also used for the First Order TIE Pilot. We broke down the DPM seal with Acetone, then oil dyed them black. For TLJ Resistance troopers, looks like they used a Dark Brown leather dye. Some of the DPM hue can be seen coming through the brown dye.

Is this standard going anywhere?
I'm wondering if the Gorka 4 parka used for an R1 Rebel Special Forces trooper would also work for this. If so, I have a fair amount of pieces and may be interested in trying to put one of these together. _________________

There hasn't been much interest so far, but that could change.
I don't think the gorka top would work because of the elastic on the sleeves doesn't match references that I've seen. _________________

I am working with someone on a 3d printable version of the Resistance Trooper Helmet with the flip-up 'jaw' and amber visor.
This pic is the first iteration. More to come.....
