As of now, MC is roughly 4-6 weeks away from being able to start this up, as he was hit recently by Darth Real Life. He is currently filling backorders, but will be finishing final tweaks on the molds and will have these ready to go.

In order to help him with pricing and get an idea of what level of interest there is, I am creating an interest thread for this project. I'm doing this since I'm on the RL forums more than he or Azman/ Mr. Bojangles are. I am NOT selling these for him, just acting as an interested 3rd party.

Pricing is not locked down, but the rough range is $80-100 for a RFT bucket. I would expect the Imperial Gunner to be more, and the Flight Deck Crew bucket to be cheaper.

Pics:

I'm still interested in the gunner, but I suppose I could want the Flight Deck Crew instead if I knew what they looked like Wink (even if it's just a screen shot of the costume, because I'm drawing a blank here)

I'll try to find a pic, but they are seen on Yavin --fuelling the X-Wings and getting the birds up in the air. It's an RFT helmet, without comm box, or shield, or neck cover. Just the talker helmet. They wear gray coverally and black boots.

Since we have the X-Wing in Denver, some of our folks want to have a costume to go with the bird if they don't want to go all out and get a pilot's whole outfit.

No, the flight crew do have the comm boxes on their helmets, just not the "swoops" or visor parts.

They flight deck crew did have the comm box in the movie, but the footage in some scenes was mirrored so the comm box was on the other side of the helmet than the one that you could see.

I gave some feedback on the early helmets, so I am interested in seeing how the tweaked helmets will look like. Smile

Here is the word from MC:

Quote:
I will probably do them either way, whichever works best for people. The RFT helmet won't be too tough to assemble so it might only add $40 to the kit price. I'm not sure on the gunner cause it's a few more pieces and will take a little longer to assemble.

Also, I did verify that it will be ABS. No HIPS, Styrene or other stuff. Personally, I'm very excitited about getting a good looking RFT bucket that won't require a lot of work to get looking good.

Or as one of the RMFF folks put it, this will be a good "parade" helmet, with the other one being more suited for travel or getting dinged up. Smile

And Darth Lars, thanks for the info. I did not know that some of the footage was mirrored. Shocked Learn something new every day....

If these are fully assembled and the price looks good, I would be in for:
RFT (mine is getting mighty beat up) Ability to flip down a transparent visor would be a plus.
Gunner
Crew

My kits and unassembled projects are starting to pile up, so something that is completed is looking good to me right about now.
And I'm also wanting more open face/non make up simple costumes I can just toss on easy when I'm doing con volunteer work.
(Febreze on the RFT for 3 days straight does sort of work, but it's nice to have an assortment).
