1/5 - This thread is going to be a general WIP thread for the Sabine build that I'm working on with my wife (fellow Echo Base member P'yxl - can you tag users in posts here?). We've discarded the Eva incarnation and are moving forward doing a scratch build from Sintra.

Current Stage: Doing a sizing check for the talented Eitanya's super-helpful Sabine armor template. The local Mercs Russalor has given it his thumbs up, but I'd really appreciate some feedback from the RL team before I cut it out of Sintra. The shoulder pieces are cut from a PVC pipe 4" elbow and have a base coat of nickel, but I will likely sand, file, and repaint if the sizing looks good.

I've also colored the wig, it just needs to be trimmed. Any feedback on the coloring (particularly in the back) would also be appreciated! Smile

Thank you for looking!

OLD -------
Hi all,

I hope I'm asking in the right place -- I'm doing my first paint of Sabine armor (Season 3 light) as a surprise of my wife. It's sculpted out of black EVA foam, and I'm trying to determine the best primer and paints to use.

Any recommendations? I did some research and concluded Plasti Dip would be ideal, with either acrylic paint or spray paint over it.

Thank you!

I would say it depends the surface finish you are aiming for and if you want the piece to flex or not.
Punished props made a great video testing a lot of sealing method. I encourage you to have a look at it Wink

Thanks, I'll give this a shot. The armor that arrived from the vendor is not as finished as what they showed in the images, so I'm going to work in tandem on cutting PVC myself.

Just added a bunch of photos. Does the size look good to begin cutting out of Sintra? Coloring okay on the wig?

Also ended up purchasing boots -- the Dream Pairs Low Wedge as recommended in another thread

The boots and the armor templates look great! Smile

I'd double check the coloring on the wig as the darker blue-purple portion does come around to the front tapers as well. Smile

It's certainly coming along! Smile

Thanks! I need to style it on Pyxl, trim, and touch up the paint. Smile

It's been a crazy few weeks but her armor is cut and shaped and looks awesome, just need to take some pictures of it -- then doing a little more sanding to finish and painting.

Paint sprayer has been 3D printed and has a base coat down in three different metallics. Going to sand, touch up, assemble, and detail.

Darksaber has been 3D printed, some assembly and painting required.

We have a seamstress working on the outfit.

I'll touch up the wig this weekend.

It's all coming together!
