For those on Xbox with EA Access, you can already play Star Wars Battlefront II as part of their Early Access perks! Seriously, if you have an Xbox, pay the $5 to get EA Access and get a look at the full content of this beautiful game. Then wait for the price to drop.

That said, gameplay videos are already becoming available, and I'm trying to get screencaps of the Rebel troopers. These are not the greatest as the people making the videos were not interested in studying the costumes.

You can find them in my Flickr album here:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/158007783@N02/albums

There are four uniforms for the Rebels on Yavin:

* Assault: recolored RFT
* Heavy: long sleeve jacket and hardpack
* Sniper: similar to ROTJ General Leia / ERT
* Officer: ROTJ officer uniform

I've been focusing on the Assault and Heavy since they're the newest costumes.

Early Observations (subject to change):

Assault

* RFT helmet with dark visor in "up" position
* standard RFT shirt with pointed collar and front bib panel, in Natural ecru color
* RFT vest
* brown bandolier with grenade greeblies and pouches
* belt and holster
* charcoal-brown pants with cargo pockets
* brown leather knee boots

Heavy:

* RFT helmet, dark visor in up position, with top half of entire helmet painted gray
* Long-sleeve jacket that ends at mid-thigh. Olive brown with dark brown yoke/sleeves.
* Rebel hardpack, colored white. White bedroll on top, brown pouch on upper right, and black canister on lower right, all strapped on to boxes with brown webbing.
* Two white pouches on back waist underneath hardpack.
* White pants
* black boots worn underneath pants

Post more screenshots here as you find them!

I'll love to see these become a clearable costume, particularly the Assult class as I've always loved the look of the A280. Here's an album of screenshots I've grabbed from the game.

I have noticed (with glee!) that some of the troopers have my exact ERT costume with hard pack. Only difference, instead of off-white under shirt, they have colored it endor cammo green:

I've gone through a bunch of videos, taken my own screenshots, and gotten help from MasterAdaar (Matthew Murray) and have drafted up guides for 13, yes thirteen new good guy costumes from the game -- and I haven't even done the Resistance yet, which I predict will overlap with The Force Awakens and Last Jedi costumes.

Costumes are broken down by location (Fleet, Yavin, Endor, Desert, Hoth, and Resistance) and by class (Assault, Heavy, Specialist, and Officer).

Some costumes are covered under existing standards, like the Hoth Trench Trooper and the Endor Trooper as mentioned earlier, so I will not include them. There is also a lot of "kitbashing" where they have used elements from other movies, especially Rogue One, and I have used the language from those existing standards.

I have also tried to format them similarly to existing standards, with "choose #" for the many details available while keeping the main iconic elements as required. The Battlefront I Desert trooper has been my main template but have also referenced the style of the Endor and Hoth standards. I've tried to follow "What did I notice when I saw this character running around" to know if something ought to be required or not. This is a big point of input I'm looking for, and the amount of "choose" items required. I've been leaning towards half but some like the Hoth Trench Trooper are around one quarter of optional detail required.

To not spam the thread with a ton of content, I will post the costume references for one uniform every week to allow time for sufficient discussion, but know that people may not log in every week and may talk about uniforms in any order. If you do need to quote, please quote exactly what you are referring to and not the entire costume or entire post.

Also be aware, the game has an interesting feature where the players get dirty the longer they stay alive. This makes determining boot color difficult as they get covered with mud/sand. I've tried to reference screenshots with "fresh" troops but have in some instances included several colors to match what's seen at a distance.

First up is a more detailed revisit of the Yavin uniforms.

IMO there shouldn't really be an optional choices being that we have a constant unchanged full 3D model of the character and anything based on it should be accurate to it

I base it on the precedent set by the EA Battlefront I Desert Trooper. It's got the same level of detail, but the LMO at the time moved the finer details to optional.

http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=843997#843997

You are correct that all of these details are present for all troops wearing this uniform.

[2 Jan 2018]
After some reflection, I've decided I'm getting ahead of myself. This is a research thread, and should focus on what is present, and leave the "choose #" and alterations for later.

To continue helping identify costume parts, I'll go through the costumes by class rather than by location. Components of the 3d models were recycled between different uniforms, and where I might not have good images of parts of one currently, another costume may have it and been captured in a good image. [There] [are] [those] who are converting the game files to be able to be viewed outside of the game in great detail which may get to these costumes eventually. The costume components are also often standardized elements from existing costumes in the films so they can be cross referenced there too.

So the next costume to be discussed is the Rebel Fleet Assault!

The other Assault classes I feel are covered by the Hoth, Endor, and Battlefront I Desert standards, so the next costume to be discussed is the Rebel Fleet Heavy. It is pretty much a recolored Rogue One trooper with a hardpack and much of the wording has been pulled from that standard.

Thanks to MasterAdaar (Matthew Murray) for many of the pics.

Next Heavy class costume is the Desert style! It also is a Rogue One style costume, with the full flak jacket like Cassian Andor wears.

Here's a couple shots I was able to get of the uniforms

RFT heavy is basically a recolor of the Scarif trooper from the Rogue one DLC of BF1 which is one of the named troopers from the art book.

Here's the Specialist uniform, this one had several different color textures which I can post if anyone needs them but the equipment/field gear stays the same regardless.

I can also get pictures of Del and Iden's later game outfits, if anyone needs them.

Thanks for the pics, Charles, those really show the detail!

Because of your post I'll come back to the Endor, Hoth, and Yavin Heavies later and move on to the Yavin Rebel Specialist, which you've shown.

I'm loving this as it's just simple additions that could be made to add a whole new dymanic to the (my Razz) RFT costume.

The larger pouch on the Assault bandolier is a Vietnam-era M67 20rd ammo pouch. Makes sense as it holds four of the short M16 magazines that the A-280 blaster uses.

http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/9627-m56-m67-ammo-pouches/

I also found a seller on eBay that offers just those clasps if you want to sew your own pouch rather than dyeing a vintage item.

The small pouches on the Assault and Specialist bandoliers are Mauser ammo pouches from WWII. You'll see them commonly in 3-cell and 2-cell configurations but it seems Battlefront II uses the more rare 1-cell variant.

It's been pointed out that some Rebel Fleet costumes in Battlefront II do not wear headgear. I've edited the previous Rebel Fleet Assault to show this. So to continue with the other one with a possibility of no headgear. The next costume to be detailed is another sniper class: the Rebel Fleet Specialist. This one has a modified open-backed Rogue One vest and some have Jyn Erso style fingerless gloves.

We've now documented all costumes using the Rebel Fleet theme, except one which is common to several different environments: the Rebel Officer. This is essentially the uniform worn by Crix Madine in RotJ. Those who played Battlefront I will remember this as an unlockable costume in the Death Star DLC. It returns in this game with a hat added.

The Rebel Fleet Officer has a light blue hat, and other locations is seen with a tan hat.
