I have started patterning this jacket (for a Shriv costume), and in certain screencaps, I am convinced there is a horizontal seam over the stomach (like where a kangaroo pocket would go) that leads into welt pockets, and I am trying to find a less encumbered photo of the kidney area to check if there is anything else going on. I wanted to cross-check the "standard" version of these jackets. |
Sorry for the low quality! For some reason I was having major issues with imgur letting me upload the high res versions (I’m still rather new to forum posting so I don’t know a better way). Anyway, you are 100% correct about the welt pockets. I am actually fairly certain that the jacket itself is essentially just a varsity style jacket with some modifications. The only thing I would say is that I don’t think they are perfectly horizontal or vertical, but rather they appear to be at about a 45° angle. |

Not sure if these will help you or not, but I tried to get a good picture of the front.

OMG I am so excited to see this!!!! If I was going to make a RLC I would do this variant. has this been approved for CRL?
Also what do those colour values mean?
I will certainly keep an eye on this if I can start doing a build soon! |

Do you mean the RAL numbers? RAL is a color matching system that is used in Europe. Each color has its own number.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAL_colour_standard
There is no costume standard (CS) for the magma trooper yet but two female magma troopers have been approved without a CS. You can get a costume approved if there are enough references available and you create the exact costume shown in the references.
The Article II: Costuming Standards of the Legions Charter says the following.
Costumes eligible for Rebel Legion membership, that do not have written/posted costume standards must include:
1. Two or more images, head to toe, showing the front and back of the costume being created OR a 360-degree head-to-toe turnaround of the character.
2. Additional images may be included to show detail of the costume being created.
3. Resource material may come from any LFL/Disney licensed sources for the character/costume being created.
4. Additional costume details may come from a detailed text-based description, but must have an accompanying visual reference to be considered for creating a Rebel Legion approved costume.
5. For video games: Player generated/edited costumes for game characters (those that are customizable) are not eligible for consideration for Rebel Legion membership.

Played the Battlefront I Sullust levels last night, and it looks like both male and female versions of this costume wear the hardpack, despite the preproduction material we have posted earlier in this thread.
(The male costume can be identified by the canteen on the left hip and more prominent yoke/arm padding, and is leftmost on this image. The female costume is in the center.)
This matches other images that have been released of the female costume with a hardpack:
Since both types have been published, and the RL charter Article II states that we represent all published Star Wars material including preproduction art, I would suggest allowing for both the hard or softpack on the female Sullust Rebel costume. |

I have proof that females can also have soft packs on Sullust and I even did not have to play BF1 this week for it. I already had some screenshots from a match of cargo on Sullust from the 28th of March. As you can see the blond female that I played had a soft pack.

I played a couple of rounds of Dropzone this morning. When I played a female on Sullust she always had a softpack. It did not matter if my character had a helmet or hair. I cannot remember if there were other female characters besides me. As far as I can tell, the male characters always had hard packs or jetpacks. I was not able to take screenshots of the male characters this time but I will try take some when I play again.

I'd like to recommend we change this to "Sullust Trooper" to fit the naming conventions established by the OT.
The Empire troop names go by environment. Rebel troops go by planet.
Snowtrooper - Echo Base Trooper
Scout Trooper - Endor Trooper
Magma Trooper - (Sullust Trooper) _________________

I second the name change. I named them SRTs (Sullust Rebel Trooper) in my references screencaps on my computer. _________________ RIAD GRRRL-Squad-Leader 2019-present

Who would we need to talk to about making this change? _________________

I do not think that we have to contact anybody to change the name from Magma Trooper to Sullust Rebel Trooper. We just have to start using the new name. Magma Trooper is only used in the forum right now because there is no CS and an official name for it yet. If you create this costume and propose the CS for it, you more or less get to choose the name for the costume. _________________ RIAD GRRRL-Squad-Leader 2019-present
