A question about lightsaber clips

I've been planning and constructing a generic Jedi costume in my head for pretty much a year now and I'm finally going to start it (I know, better late than never, right? Haha). However, before I start purchasing things, I have a question that pertains to the belt and subsequent lightsaber clip for a generic Jedi. I've tried sending an email to my local charter, but I haven't received an answer, so I figured I'd ask you fine folk for assistance Smile

I'm looking to purchase a Prequel Trilogy style belt and the saber I'm looking to purchase from Vader's Vault is pretty sleek looking. I feel a covertech would detract from the style too much (Tempest)

My question is, can I have a Prequel belt with a D-Ring clip? Or will it be unaccepted because it's not "canon"?

Thanks much!

I am also considering this option for my upcoming generic Jedi build, and what I'm wondering is this: with a prequel style belt, should the d-ring-compatible-hook be removable, or is it allowed to be riveted directly to the belt, like on Luke's and Obi-Wan's OT belts? I'd prefer to mount it directly to my belt if possible, and ideally I'd like to use the exact same style as on Luke's OT belts.
Also, would it just be too ludicrous to have BOTH the Covertec clip/wheel combo, AND a D-ring/hook combo? It's overkill, sure, but I was thinking it might nice to have both options.

I've seen sabers with covertec wheels on them and a D ring through them so...yeah. The clips I think you might need to have a belt with a clip that is removable and a D ring clip as well as a covertec or have a PT styled belt with the covertec and an OT/ST belt with a saber D ring clip.
