Normally I prefer to make my own costumes, but I was recently given a coupon to CosplaySky so I figured I might as well take advantage of it. I'm considering their Padme Packing Gown from Ep. II but wanted some thoughts on it as I'd want to submit it for approval.

I've done my own comparisons to the references and the standards, and it seems decently accurate with the need for some minor modifications needed (looks like it might be short a couple buttons on the cuffs, the embroidered panel in the front needs some altering as well). But of course I'd like some input from those with trained eyes.

It's hard to pass judgement without seeing it in real life, but Winter Blossom cosplay did a review of the dress and posted photos which show some of the color differences from the listing.

Thoughts? Is this a good base from which to modify or not worth it?

In my opinion you will need to redo almost everything ... The fabrics aren't close enought for approval : for example the underbodice need to be "matt" not shiny like we can see on the photos, the velvet is "deep charcoal gray" and it seems black blue ?. Check the standards ->:http://newsite.rebellegion.com/padme-amidala-episode-ii-attack-of-the-clones-packing-gown/ .
But defenitely would take it just for the patterns which seems good Very Happy with minor changes.

Thanks for your input! I'll probably end up just making on my own as I usually do with costumes down the road. But always good to have better eyes than mine 😊

Yeah, Yumi is right. You'd basically have to redo everything. It's recognizable, but the fabrics are off, the sleeves are clearly too short, vest is dark blue, front panel is wrong size and the pattern is also off...

For fun it's recognizable and a fine cheap costume, but for the legion it would need the right fabrics and colors, and both skirt and sleeves have too little fabric in them to get the right look.
