This comes from the 501st Central Garrison boards.

"Okay troopers,

We are once again involved in the Dundee Parade. This year I'm gonna change the format a little. The past two years have been largely informational where we've handed out information packets with some activity books and such. One thing I've noticed is that it really doesn't gain us anything. So, this year I'm thinking of doing something a little more interactive. I've talked briefly with Rob Carmichael about having a rebel presence at Dundee Days this year as well. I'd like to have some interaction with the attendees and between the rebels and imperials. What I've been thinking about is a type of 'Droid Hunt', but with a few more badges involved (ie. Ambush, Saboutage, etc...). These new badges would allow the participants to take troopers and rebels prisoner (or break them out of prison, depending on the badge). Also, I was thinking of getting someone to do some face painting. At Celebration my kids loved the face painting and I think it would be something fun for the kids. I will be posting more as I find it and get coordinated, but remember to keep this on your calendars."

John from the 501st and I have really been discussing ways to spice things up. This will work really well if we have several rebels available. Let's try to get the Legion's name out there! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I'm game as long as 1) Heather gets my robes back to me by than or 2) I finish my RFT by than.

Not sure that will happen...especially with us moving the 15th. I know she's been meaning to talk to you next time we managed to get together about starting on a new Jedi.

I may go Rebel for this too, since my armor will most likey still be packed away.

Well, if I don't have one of the other done by than, than I can always do costume support and man the table. I'm getting ready to order my pants and helment for the RFT so hopefully I'll have that done by that time.

This was a great event! Although, I wound up going as Dooku, not a rebel or Jedi, so officially, this was just a 501st event.

We had several costumed participants in the parade and for a short time after, then just 3 costumed and 3 support.

The main activity was the Imperial Training Academy. Our Biker scout was training on the Nerf shooting range, I was doing the Sith Saber training (assisted by my two young dark jedi), and an Imperial Gunner was handling the Thermal Detonator toss and Physical fitness areas.

It was a lot of fun. Next year maybe we can have a RL booth. wink2
