Hey all!

I am in the midst of starting on one of Padmé's TCW Senate outfits. I have a pretty good base to start out with. But I'll need to work on the top and cloak, jacket thing she wears over it.

Padmé's Dress:

I found a periwinkle fabric with some texturing on the internet, it's a bit expensive but it looks like it could do well as the cloak part, but in the show the cloak looks like it has no embroidery etc. But nonetheless here is what I found. : https://www.nydesignerfabrics.com/periwinkle-silk-brocade-fabric.html

Here is a fabric I found for the sleeves, it resembles it a bit, but I will continue looking. I do like the design of it though: https://www.moodfabrics.com/champagne-bold-swirls-jacquard-104821?utm_source=google_shopping&gclid=CI6W6-24wNMCFQUQaQodBzwLfA

Thanks!

Not bad finds. Smile It is also a possibility to buy a fabric printing kit and make the golden pattern yourself. Just throwing it out there.

That is a very good idea! I will have to check that out. Think I'm going to check out Jo Ann tomorrow to see what they have in store.

Since the show doesn't have any texture on the periwinkle coat/dress, I'd tend towards something a little plainer, though that weight and drape is probably good.

The spiral portion is really. There are a lot of organza and curtain fabrics with gold swirls on them. You could possibly layer that on top of a true gold fabric to create the effect you're looking for:

Number 2 of those links looks promising. Smile So many opportunities for doing this.

I do like that second one, but I just realized that the minimum yardage is 70 yards. Confused I've seen stuff like that at JoAnne and other fabric stores in the US though.
