Updated ... Moonday 24 July 2017.

Because, of issues with Photobucket ... i found another picture host/share thing ImgBB (cross fingers this one stays free for the upcoming years).

I made some kind of resume of it, not longer a extended version, like first.

I re-post everything, incase costume judges need intel, or if this can help others.

B. Arm Compad ...

… this arm compad, is from my first X-Wing costume. I don’t know the origin of this arm compad, i bought it in 2008 / 2009 from Darktrooper (Founder & CO, Rebel Legion Benelux).

Painted this arm compad in 2008 / 2009 with paint from Revell (white, black, red & silver), and use also primer/varnish of Revell.

To fit it in the sleeve, i used
a piece of cardboard, and wrap it with orange duc tape.

> Tape: HPX, Euroshop (Roeselare, Belgium).
> Paint, Primer, Varnish: Revell, Domini (Zwarte Berg, Belgium).

Yes you can make a bucket that looks like the action figures. A lot of people can get by with just their natural hair styled properly and you can use a temporary dye (the kind that washes out right away) if you have trouble finding a wig.

You might check into a 3D print for the housing component and the rebel bird on the bottom.

Héllo,

... thank you for the answer.

I didn't go on path for a wig ... but as soon i go the Gent, i will go to the Opera of Gent they have sometimes sales wigs.

But first get all the props correct ... about the 3d print i have already contacted few persons on shapeways.

for the rest, i will next with get some pvc foamboard, resin, ... to make to bottom. and the engine cap. i have make pictures of the action figure bucket en enlarge the pictures to lifesize, print out, and so it will be easier to make measurements.

i will keep posting the w.i.p.

F. A'rO Filter (part 1) ...

I decided, to make the action figure version. Because, it was easy’r to find, and make those parts, than for the movie version.

Fore base i use a Hamilton Beach 68330N 4-Quart Automatic Ice-Cream Maker.

… bought a second hand one, at Amazon.US, with the help from Cem-Ji Pobroo (Ra Kura Base, Florida (U.S.A.)).

What? Why?

Well … this machine is only available in U.S.A., and all the shops who sell this one, don’t sell / ship outside U.S.A.. And another member of Rebel Legion helped me to get one.

This is one of the beauty's of Rebel Legion ... As One !

… removed all the parts, I didn’t need for the build, after the removal of the parts, it was to the drawing board, to put basic on paper.

Star Wars Reads Day 2014 (Amount: 1)

The wig will probably work but the mustache will need trimming, it should look like a sideways parenthesis. However you could probably use the trimmings to make sideburns if your own are not dark enough

that was the reason of the long moustache ... to trim it on size.

i want first to see how large the side burns are with this wig, to let my own sideburns grow, i fear it will be a mix of grey (lucky no 50)

F. A'rO Filter (part 2) ...

… pvc pipes, these are periscope pipes, used for kitchen ventilation from Brico (Roeselare, Belgium).

Because, I didn’t find any examples for this build, I had to experiment a lot during this build, and work with different sizes, to find the correct size/shape. The only refference I have, is 2,2 cm, and on the world wide web I found pictures in high resolution.

F. A'rO Filter (part 3) ...

… with the drawings I made tests, and with those test I could make new drawings, and went to a company that make 3D models of my drawings. I went to 3D&I (Gent, Belgium) … and few days later this was the result:

… this build had a lot of variety work.

While the putty and/or glue was harding, I continue working on the bucket. Extend the bottom. Put an extra collar on the bucket, filled the gaps … and a lot of sanding.

> Glue Primer (K.N.S.)  Because, this build is made with different types of plastic, it’s important to use glue prime.
> A135 Epoxy Adhesive (Axson).
> Epoxy Stick (Magnum).
> Polyester Putty (K.N.S.).
> Sandpaper 80 / 100 / 120 / 240 / 300 (3M)

... all from K.N.S. (Roeselare, Belgium).

> PVC glue (Soudal)(Brico, Roeselare, Belgium),
> PVC foamboard (Europo Shop, Roeselare, Belgium)

F. A'rO Filter (part 4) ...

Extend the bottom …

I cutted 4 rings out of PVC foamboard and glue them together, and sanded into shape.

The PVC Rebel Crest, is one I found in a convention this one was provisional use. Later in this build I will use a 3D printed one with correct sizes.

- - - - -

The console …

… after study the toy version, I made a few drawings, and made some kind of prototype with PVC foamboard.

With the drawings and prototype, I went to Labrat (Roeselare, Belgium), and made a 3D model of it. He made also for me a 3D model of the Rebel Crest.

… keep on sanding.

The extra collar I made, I filled with putty and sanded into shape, so that I can put the console on. To put the console on the bucket, I used epoxy and screws, and made few cover ups on the inside.

coming along nicely. You might try using caulk to hide the inside seams little more flexible than putty so should do the curves well.
