Yeah, weathering...I resist the urge.... heck, my TK armor isn't weathered, why should my helmet be?

Waiting for the paint to dry....pin striping tomorrow...

PS- You can go ahead and knock the first place team in the NL East. It won't hurt my feelings.

All you need now is the Star Tours employee costume to match the helmet! Laughing

Joking aside, great work. Cant wait to see it finished.

Allright, stripes are done, now it's time to wrestle with the visor. I resisted the urge to put a big number 4 on the back of the helmet. Maybe a #4 in aurebesh? Laughing

The visor is just taped to the inside on this one, so you can get the "idea":

Richie didn't include any of the thick rubber edge trim for the chin area, only some thin stuff, which is what you see in the photo. What is the technical term for that stuff? I can't think of it. I might try home depot tomorrow to get something closer to the right size before fitting the visor. If I can't find anything usable, I'll just paint the chin black. I'll need to cut some ABS to affix to the visor side edges too, as seen is some of the other y-wing helmet photos. The visor doesn't exactly fit the width of this helmet.

Will plastic weld work for attaching the ABS to the visor?

The visor kinda sucks for visibility....I can see better out of my TK bucket.

Door trim edging might work. And Pep boys or Discount Auto Parts would have it. That curve around the chin is going to be tricky unless you find the really flexible stuff.

Since it's so thick, would part of a steering wheel cover work?

Pipe insulation foam comes to mind as well. Both are quite flexible...

Wow, is that a UF-Wing Helmet!?!

Richie is making a chest box? I still have my old molds somewhere, but those were based ont he action figure and I've since rejected those ideas, at least halfway.

What is the difficulty level of this Y-wing helmet kit, and what
all will it include. I'm very interested in this kit, but this will determine
me purchasing one.

as of this time, I do not know what's involved, exactly, but I'm guessing a Helmet shell in at least 2 pieces and the visor.

I will try to get an answer from Richie, but the collection for the helmets has already started. once we're at the number, the order will be placed.

And as I have previously requested, all interested people MUST email me at etoc630@hotmail.com
