Kia ora all!

As the default user introduction pack makes a few assumptions about how we find these forums, I thought I'd try to make an introductory thread on where to get advice specific for fellow kiwis who will naturally gravitate to our section Smile

As these forums are so large, and it is so easy to miss an update to a thread you are interested in, I highly recommend subscribing to to a thread!
This is found at the very bottom left of each page in a thread:

What are the local forums for?
These are best for arranging events/appearances, getting together to help each other make our costumes, getting to know our fellow kiwi members.

We have a thread especially on getting help locally:
Rebel Legion Forum Index ->
Australia ->
Naboo Outpost

->Local costume help Smile

Please do feel free to ask questions here for advice on where to find materials locally, and we can also share finds- please do not post unlicensed props/costumes though!

We will also get regular updates from legion staff on changes to processes, when elections come up and other important information that could get buried in these very large forums!

These forums are shared so the first port of call is here:
Rebel Legion Forum Index ->
General Discussion -> Rebel Rumblings ->
New Recruits FAQ Area

Within there you will find
->Announcement: Read First! Forum Rules, Privacy Policy and Terms of Service
These are very important to read and understand. And this is why I have posted them first here Smile

->Sticky: HELP! My forum account won't activate!!
In case you are having trouble with activating your account

->Sticky: Rebel Legion Membership and Forum FAQs
More information that you can point a weta at! Concisely written and intended to help our global membership base.

->Sticky: Rebel Legion Membership Charter
The charter is a living document, it has been recently updated to reflect changes in our relationships with other groups and partners.
It reflects our expectations of all members, as well as Command, and other volunteer staff.

These are all very important reading, they are how we maintain the forums and our club Smile

But once the ball is rolling and you are sending in a costume:
->Announcement: Costume Applications Process [/color]
The process is centralised, and not influenced locally. This means a panel of judges will be used for consistency in the process globally.
It does however mean locally we can help with advice on where to get fabrics/plastics/other materials, we can hold prop parties but we can't give advice on what will be approved.

->Announcement: IMPORTANT APPLICATION INFORMATION
A guide to making the process work for you, including advice on what kind of photos to include.

It is highly recommended that you post a Work In Progress thread of your work in the global costuming forum section:
Rebel Legion Forum Index ->
Costume and Prop Making

There are multiple sub fora for different costume types. They are also the places members will share information from exhibitis, other official artwork.
This is where the judges recommend putting your costume progress, and is the fastest way for them to review your work when it comes to the application process.

During the application process some communication will flow between applicant, judge, and Base Commanding Officer, the BCO will be able to advocate in some ways. Ultimately it is the call of the judge.

Other important parts of the boards:
Rebel Legion Operations ->
General Discussion

->Rebel Briefing A general RL discussion forum for Rebel Legion members (members only)
->Rebel Rumblings A general RL discussion forum for everyone
->The Coruscant Cafe An off-topic forum for all members. Please post responsibly.
->Honorary Memberships & Friends of the Rebellion A place for members to track and arrange for honorary memberships and friends of the rebellion.
