Hello! I have some ideas! Back right when I was first joining the legion, that costume happened to come to my local Science Museum while I was working on my Tatooine disguise costume, so I took all sorts of photos. I didn't get a true back photo, but, I was able to get pretty close.

You can check out my gallery here: http://silentsong.toweroftime.com/starwars-science/starwars-science.html

For reference, here is what I did with my belt (first with the top layer folded back a bit):

Some detail shots here and here, if you would like a closer look.

Based on what I could see at the exhibit, I used a very tight ziz-zag stitch to 'embroider' the brown lines on the belt. While my lines probably aren't 100% accurate, I am confident that they are pretty close. The yellow circles needed to be done by hand though.

The closure is almost definitely on the left hip, under where the top blue layer ties off. The blue is also almost definitely some kind of cheesecloth. It is a different weight, color, and texture than the shirt.

Thanks so much!! I got this fabric to remake the belt:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BI1PRVG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

will that work? it looks close enough. i got some orange clay to make the orange piece. i got some grey fabric to redo the arm bands. i ordered some blue cheesecloth to redo the belt as well.
