I'm working on a Senatorial Leia gown, but I have a question about the hood. I've pinned it on the neck edge so the rolled hem faces down, but I've noticed that when the hood is up the rolled hem will be on the outside. However, if I turn it around the hem will face up when the hood is down.

I can't find any reference photos with high enough resolution to show which way is correct. Can anyone help out?

I'm having a hard time finding photos high-res enough, but I think you're right about that. I remember seeing one somewhere that showed the rolled hem is pointing "up" when it is hanging down her back, so then it would have hems facing "down" when over her head.

That's what the references seems to suggest. Plus it would look odd to have the hem on the outside of the hood when having it up. Smile

I made it the second way - hem facing up when hood is down / facing down when hood is up. It just seemed natural to me because the hems of hoods are always made that way and I knew I wouldn't ever find any reference pic ^^
