Do most sabers have removable blades, or is it standard practice to have a separate hilt for non-blade cosplay?

I'm hoping I can get one with a detachable blade, perhaps Kyberlight

Most custom saber shops such as saber forge, Ultrasaber and Kyberlight offer removable blades on their sabers.

the ones with fixed blades are the hasbro and master replicas "force FX" -- hasbro made a few with removable blades..but not too many.
(vader, luke, maul.. obi-wan&anakin(I think).. and that's about it)

the fan-made custom sabers all have removable blades

-==-

for me, my standard practice is to have both: a belt-hanger hilt, and a fixed blade force-fx.

this is what I submitted with my luke ESB costume

(but to be fair -- the belt-hanger is technically an ANH model;
the blade is ESB -- so this costume was accepted on the strength of the ESB saber alone)

it's not required to have both.

you can be accepted with a bladed saber (or hilt only) -- either way is fine -- the glowing blade is 'allowed but not required'
