I've never before made a costume, or any clothing, or worked with leather. But, in October, I decided to start building a Han Solo costume. I'm just toying around right now, not necessarily trying to get anything approved, but I wanted to share what I've done so far.

Keep in mind my total lack of experience - if you're thinking about doing something similar, this is totally within your reach!

I need to make some of my own greeblies, including the droid caller, the little boxes and the gas tubes. If anyone has a source on any of those, or tips on creation, I'd love to hear it. Naturally, I also need to build the leather pouches onto the belt. I've seen a lot of debate over whether the pouches should be individually sewn on, or whether the pouches might have been one larger piece of leather attached over the face of the belt - has that been definitively determined yet?

I'd also love to hear how anyone else attached their holster to the y-shaped yoke that attaches to the belt. Mine is attached with four rivets, and I made my yoke too wide and a bit too long, so I'll probably try it all again down the road.
