I'm currently working on the Cloud city version of Leia and have an inquiry about the hair. As fair as wigs are concerned, I don't mind wearing one. But I'd like to use my natural hair if at all possible. I'm just not sure if I could recreate the hair style that is up to parr on Rebel Legion standard.
I'm also having trouble picking a fabric to use as the base for the tunic and pants. I plan to dye the fabric to get the accurate color.
This is my attempt at recreating the hairstyle. Would it be acceptable?

From the picture your hairstyle is looking pretty good. I don't think you'll need a wig or extensions, but you can always post up some more pictures if you want.
As for the fabric, the original is crepe de chine silk in a sort of rusty red with copper piping cord on the collar. If you want to dye fabric yourself, then acid dye is pretty easy to use, you just have to find the right color mix. _________________

Thank you!!
I'll be purchasing fabric for the tunic and pants as soon as I complete my Jedi robes. I've order the piping and the fabric for the vest so I can start the embroidery. |

Good luck with it. I love this costume, so I've done some research on it myself. I just hate embroidering. _________________

From all the hairstyles worn by Princess Leia, the Bespin hair is one that most women with long hair can replicate without the use of extensions. Carrie fisher still had extensions because her hair was shoulder length. _________________ Dowager Queen Delegation Leader 2015-2017

I recently cut nine inches off my hair. It's still fairly long, but I'll have to use Kinekalon hair or extensions to replicate the hairstyle now. |
