Hi all,
I'm very recently approved to the Legion but have been doing unofficial troops with local members of the 501st.
I'm just curious how everybody transports their lightsaber when on the way to a troop. It's quite a long piece of gear and doesn't fit in your standard duffel bag all that well, even with the blade detached
Any saber transporting tips from my fellow Jedi? |

I don't have a saber, but what about a poster tube? with foam. |

I carry my jedi outfit in a hanging wardrobe bag which is long enough to fit the blade. I carry the hilt in a duffle bag with the belt and boots. |

Fishing rod cases would be ideal, I suspect, but they're really pricey.
A cheap way would be a simple PVC tube with caps on the end. Glue one end closed and tape the other? Done for about $5. |

I usually have a few lightsabers with me, so I got a rifle case. Holds 3-4 sabers easily and whatever chargers/tools I might need. Think it might have been $30ish at Academy. _________________ Qui-Gon Joe

That should be quite effective, I'd bet (and nicely padded!), but many parts of the country do not look kindly at people carrying a rifle case into a school or similar charity, so I suspect the PVC pipe option would be a little less inflammatory. |

I use a fishing rod case. Was quite cheap, only 80 DDK. (Don't know the current exchange rate). _________________ DXO of Royalty & Senatorial detachment

I actually had a couple of blades cut short so they would fit diagonally into my largest suitcase. They are removable from the hilt.
I also sew a long 'pocket' for the blade on the inside facing of my Jedi robe. You can hide all sorts of things in a Jedi robe. It's not much of a problem, even when I sit down.

I tend to carry 3 or 4 sabers, a Leia blaster, and my spear for Odin to cons. So my preferred case is a double rifle case. I can fit all of that in there (the spear breaks down into 2 pieces about 3 feet long) with some careful arranging and it protects very well. Got mine at Academy Sports for about $40, if I remember right. _________________ Tommy "BedlamX" Sutton
