No, I don't think anyone has ever written a standard for this. I do remember a discussion about it, possible about whether the references where consistent enough for a standard. I don't remember the result of that discussion.

*waves* That's me. Actually, someone did submit a standard, but we haven't been able to find enough back shots to be able to verify it. They don't sell that comic in Japan, so I haven't been able to get my hands on a copy of it easily yet.

I'd love to see people making costumes of this and to get a standard finalized. I think this collection here gives us a pretty good idea of the front of the costume, but we still need some of the back. Do either of you (or anyone else) have a copy of the comic and could scan frames with back shots? In the mean time, I will dig out the standards and reference photos we were sent earlier.

I just scanned in a bunch of pages from the comic. They're right here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/144230614@N02/sets/72157669631973891/

What were the previous standards sent in?

I was looking at the standards for Snowbunny Padme that seem to be pretty brief. I was going to use them as a starter for writing some for this Leia but if there are already standards written then there is no point in rehashing something already in progress.

Thanks for all of those quick scans guys!

So here's what Angie suggested so far.

Nomad Angie wrote:
Princess Leia, "Star Wars: Princess Leia" Comic Book Mini-Series:

Required Items:

1. White jumpsuit in a non-shiny fabric with pill-shaped padded patches on the upper arms and forearms with larger patches on the thighs in a rounded and contoured diagonal quilted zig-zag design, quilted side front and side back sections, piping trim and a waist-length, top-stitched matching belt. A padded jumpsuit is preferred but not required.

2. Off-white or cream padded vest with diamond-shaped quilting below the yoke, a padded, rounded fold-over collar popped up, and piping trim details. (Star Wars: Princess Leia #1)

3. Off-white, cream or light brown (khaki) shawl, wrapped around the head. (Star Wars: Princess Leia #2 & #3)

4. Cream or light brown leather or non-shiny vinyl wedge-heel knee boots, worn with the jumpsuit pant legs tucked in. (Hoth boots are acceptable as well)

5. Off-white, cream or light brown leather gloves, worn with the jumpsuit sleeves tucked in.

6. Brown gun holster belt, with octagonal buckle and leather strap around the thigh. Belt has 4-6 small pouches.

7. Hair parted in the center, rolled on each side and a third roll on the back. Two curls on the sideburns. Naturally-ocurring hair color only; no bangs.

Optional Items:

1. X-Wing Pilot Helmet with appropriate insignia.

2. DDC Defender long-barrel blaster.

Reference: "Star Wars: Princess Leia" comic mini-series (Marvel, 2015)

With JordanWest's gallery, we can see some shots of the back of the jumpsuit, and not just the cape, I think we have enough to go on.

I think we should probably rephrase this so that it includes a cape and/or a vest, though they should not be worn at the same time. She also has a bunch of different hair styles going on. We could either decide to reference the most common hair style, or give several choices.

Once we have revised this standard to a point where everyone likes it, we'll pass it along to the detachment to discuss, and then the costume standards committee.

Actually, I wrote part of the standards for the costume. I have additional information, but I haven't been able to sit down and write it down because I am a prisoner to my family (figure of speech, and a long story).

If you give me an additional three days, I will be back to freedom in Phoenix and will be able to commit to costuming full-time, and will finish the standards I have so far.

Thanks for the new reference images!

There is considerable difference aparrent in the cloak. Even in the references above, some look identical in colour to the jumpsuit, while the cover pic is fawn. Cover art is often done by different artists to the interiors. Is it possible to have the cloak definition broadened to white as well?

my initial post has the interior versions for clarification.
