My husband found this Kickstarter project for custom lightsabers, and before I back it, I'd like some opinions on whether these sabers might be approvable for the RL. I'm planning on creating a generic Jedi, if that matters.

Looks like they got a lot of "inspiration" from http://saberz.com/

That and countless other places. As for their blades the majority of actual blade damage you see in any blade in the hobby right now is at the tip.

The blunt end of an ax and a car tire won't replicate what we do and where we suffer IMO.[/url]

I would highly suggest joining a facebook community of saber enthusiasts called "The Vault: A Custom Lightsaber Community" started my Deanna and Alan from Vader's Vault. Very friendly (most of the time as geeks we can be passionate about our toys) community of unbiased advice regarding any current company or smith in the business.

Currently Kyberlight is looking a little sketchy.

There is a thread for this as well in the general Jedi forum and you might want to review some comments there

I spent a lot of time researching this company. Read every review I could find and watched many videos.
Given the reviews, the options they have available, their price point and the 15% off sale that's going on right now I ordered the Basic Knight saber.
Should be here in 2-4 weeks.

Once I have had the chance to play with it I will post a review and let everyone know what I think.
My review will be very objective.

Currently I have 5 MR Sabers, 1 FX saber and a Random Sabers lightsaber.
I also purchased a grab bag saber from Ultrasabers.
I'll give a review on that one also.

I'm very impressed with my Kyberlight saber.
