So, I was pointed this direction from Flagship Eclipse about the Imperial Knight, because the RL has a CRL on the costume. I found the CRL, but is there a specific detachment that the IKs fall under? I couldn't find much within the forums for it, but I'm a bit bewildered at the content...and doing a search yeilded over 2000 results.

I'm researching this costume now, in hopes to put something together sometime down the road.

Thank you!

Yep, saw those, thanks.

Looking to know if there is a forum section dedicated to the costume, or at least partly to the costume (like under "Rebel Supporters" or "Rebel Alliance Infantry Detachment" or any other subforum). Would be good to have a discussion area to reference, since armor parts are difficult, if not impossible, to find.

they are listed as jedi in the standards so check in the jedi thread. there must have been a discussion on them at some point, if not you might have to start one. i dont know if our base has any. i know we have discussed in the past putting together a group of them
are they also 501st approveable. i assume so with the title imperial. do they fight for both sides. i know so little about them

edit

okay so i just checked. go to the jedi threads and click under EU jedi. there are about 5 topics for the knights ranging from lightsabres to armour contsruction

Cool, much appreciated.

And yes, I was originally seeking this costume in the 501st. They are under the Flagship Eclipse Detachment. However, the forum activity on the topic seems to cease around 2010, with the bulk of the activity in 2007/08. Not much else since.

I will definitely check out the forum you mentioned. Thank you!

There's not really a lot of information out there on them. They're KJO, and I've helped a few garrison members build them. Let me know if I can be of any assistance.

I appreciate that, thank you.

Not sure when I'm planning on physically starting it, as I'm still in the midst of assembling my TIE Pilot/181st. Digging up what ever information I can in the meanwhile, and then taking the plunge. Wink

If you can find a rubies Vader undersuit, we used that as the base. We cut it up, and made pants and a shirt (although you could probably use the thing intact if you wanted). That way you get the vader-looking ribbed arms, legs, and torso section (under the armor).

Cool, I will start watching for that, thank you. I found someone who does the armor, so I'll be ordering that soon. Smile

Kevin? Cool

Oh, let me know if you need help with the belt - I've made 6 from scratch.

We do have a few Imperial Knights in the Rebel Legion....

They are a complicated and intense costume for sure.

One of the things as a judge that we always pay attention to is how the armor fits you.

Some applicants have had way oversized armor....

good luck with your build!

Not much out there for Vader suits thus far, unless I resign to spending $350 plus shipping on it...still watching eBay.

Yes, from Kevin.

I was considering buying a generic Jedi belt, and attaching Imperial buckle to it. If it's a reasonably easy process, I'd be interested in hearing the details on making them. Smile Thank you.

I inquired about the armor, and it sounds it will be a good fit for my frame. Smile

Sure.

If you look, its 3 different layered belts. The base is a big 5-inch tall belt. Start with this - make sure it goes around you, with some overlap for snaps. The middle sections are 3-inch tall pieces, cut to a point. The smallest section is a 1-inch tall piece, which goes almost all the way around. Once all the pieces are cut, you'll want to line it up and cut out holes with a circle punch so the middle and smaller pieces can intertwine. It's all fastened together with some chicago screws.

You'll want to make sure you smooth out the corners with a tool like this - https://www.tandyleather.com/en/product/craftool-pro-classic-fine-edger
Then make sure the edges have that glossy waxy look with something like this - https://www.tandyleather.com/en/product/wood-slicker-single-groove

Lastly, you'll want a tool like this to carve the horizontal lines (can't find a good link).

Then you'll have to dye it. I'll see if I can find a link for the color I used. After you dye it, then add the snaps!

It looks daunting, but it really isn't that bad. As long as you can find a good metal imperial buckle and greeblie (which are easy to find on the 501st side), you should be good to go.

Hey 190, who is Kevin and could I have his contact info? New to NSB, but I would love to get my hand on some IK armor as well.
