Hi there! I wanted to start a build thread and am not sure the best place to do it. If not here, just let me know, I couldn't find a forum specifically for build threads.

I'm Rae and I am working on my first costume to join the legion. The standards say that the overtunic can be colors other than brown or tan if they are earthy, so I was playing around with some colors that I liked on a rough doodle in photoshop just to decide, and came out with a color scheme like this

Any thoughts on if this would be hard to get approved? The green I was thinking of using is this fabric, which is pretty subdued, 100% cotton

Sorry if this is unnecessary fretting, I just want to know if I am in the ballpark of acceptable Wink

The character Corren Horn has green robes. Green has been associated with Corellian Jedi at times due to this influence. And I have seen green generic JEdi outfits get approved in the past. you may try searching for them on the site. ( http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/costume.php?mode=view&c=4680 )

I personally think your colors look good.
Don't quote me on that though, I would suggest waiting for someone with more costuming authority give you a answer.

I would suggest browsing the Jedi tutorial forums, for shoulder tucks, seams placements, tabard creation, etc. while creating your costume.

Good luck on your costume Very Happy

Sorry for the late response on this. You can totally keep using this forum, but you might get more help on this one: http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=21

I also spotted this thread for your robe: http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=75899
Looks like you're not the only vegan Jedi! You should message a few of the others for belt and robe tips!

As far as the green goes, it depends on what you want to do. If you ever wanted to upgrade to the armored TCW Jedi you can't do green, it's shades of brown only (Link: http://www.rebellegion.com/generic-jedi-general-the-clone-wars/ )

You should be okay on generic Jedi though. Send pictures of the fabric to one of the Jedi costume judges to double check. Scroll to the bottom of this page for links:

You can look at their profiles and pick one or two to contact.

Let me know if you have more questions!

Also if going generic jedi general, the length of the tunics are different as general tunics have to go down to the knee, whereas generic jedi do not.
