Hello! First post, so hope I do everything correctly! Thanks for having me. I am looking for some possible help regarding the lace on my padme fireside outfit (to start.) the one I have used was the least floral lace I could find. What do y'all think? Too floral to try to submit? Thanks so much!

This link should work to bring you to several pictures of the costume:

It's a bit difficult to tell from that distance. Do you have a closer-up shot of your lace?

Thank you for the reply, Jenna! I added a new photo at the bottom of the link on the first post of the lace up close. Hope that helps.

To me, it looks too floral, unfortunately. Your pattern is made up entirely of two different shapes of flowers.

I know that finding the right lace is often the hardest part of this costume.

If you are able to just switch out the layers, and if others here think it's okay I have some flocked net (the original is a chenille, so flocking works well) that needs a new home:

This has gone back and forth between my friend and I I am basically looking at postage and the on super sale cost, basically to cover paypal fees.
As the pattern is not connected, it would be possible to paint leaf like lines on the revers- that way you get the effect of the flocking/piled fabric but with a little more fern like effect of the original.

I only haven't done this already as I am too tired to do so. But there is plenty of fabric, it's not too stretchy and as it is on a net base it can even be embroidered or cut out where needed.

I do have it listed in my for sale thread, which should be easy to find through my profile if it hasn't been archived Smile

But I love the fit and soft leather look of the corset and gloves Smile

I agree with Jenna that it's sadly clearly floral. Non floral lace is hard to find, but not impossible. You will have to search a bit for it though and get lucky.

Of course, if you happen to crochet or knit you could always try to make your own lace.

Thanks, all! Smile

I wasn't sure because I did see some photos of an approved one which used the same lace...

I do have another non floral option I may try before submitting. It is very open, so will have to play around a bit more, maybe add something behind it.
