Now with Sleeves!

I also finished the lining last night. I'll likely have a complete jacket this evening!

Jeffrey, would you be interested in assisting with the standard for Cassian Andor?

JEffrey, I'm interested in doing this costume and I'd love few answers to some questions I have.
First one regarding the stripes on the jacket. Are those stripes made with a sewing machine?
SEcond one regarding the boots, did you get the 400$ boots from the company that actually provided the boots for the movie? How did you recreate the flap? I recognize the lace on the boot being a ski boot thing. Did you source a specific model of ski boot?
Thanks for any answer. Best regards.

Frederico!

Okay, so the stripes of the jacket were actually pre-embroidered pieces that I had purchased a while ago to make Han Solo ESB pants. I wound up purchasing a pair, so the stripes just sat in a drawer waiting for a project.

The boots are indeed Fryes, but a slightly different (possibly earlier) style than the screen used ones. I bought mine on eBay for around $60. I own a lot of Frye boots, and had a strong suspicion that they were that maker. Differences are really superficial and I'm glad I found them, as I could not stomach the idea of permenantly altering a brand new pair of $400 boots

I made the flaps out of leather and machine stitched them, I used a medium brown dye and antiquing gel to color match and achieve the correct patina.

The latches are from a vintage Lange ski boot that I also got these on eBay. I believe that most pairs of Lange boots from the 80s had this latch. There are about four latches on each boot, but the bottom latch is the one that is sized correctly.

Hope that helps!

thanks for all your answers !!!
Do you mind telling me how I can source those stripes? they look consistent with Andor's uniform.

I'm working on 3D models for the rankbar and the right toolbox, the one he has on the chest which should be a container for poison.

I designed 2 styles of the rankbar because I've seen different versions of it.
This version has raised cylinders.

The plate, is 7x8 cm. the main plate is 2mm tall, with the cylinders going up for 2 more mm. Cylinders have 1.8cm diameter

This one has the 2 dots being surrounded by the main plate.

The height of the plate is 3mm with the hole surrounding the cylinders being 2mm wide, 2mm tall. Cylinders have 1.8cm diameter

What do you think size wise? which one is the correct version?

I believe the correct one has the pips flush with the body.

I'm on the hunt for some corellian blood stripes myself actually. Does anyone have a good source for them? Doing a Cassian/generic Rebel trooper costume, and my jacket is lacking a good set of stripes.

I second this.

Regarding the rankbar, what do you guys think is a correct size? 7x7 or 8x8 ?
I appreciate it is a square and not a rectangle having checked that the general has 5 dots and they are all equally spaced.
