Hi,

Pardon me if I've posted in the wrong section.

I've difficulty finding a pair of goggles that matches the Legion's requirements.

I've found the following and are they accepted for approval?

(White Nordic version, with interchangeable Yellow Lens)

My preference is for the last 4 models, as I wear glasses.

Also to share, the following vendor's site shows how one should measure one's face to find the right goggles:

Thanks and any advice is much appreciated.

They all look good if you ask me. White framed goggles. They are not overly rounded or funky looking like many modern goggles.

Its hard to find good ones that do not have the weird padding lip that comes down.

I wanted to find some that were older and looked more like the style of the old Swans goggles used. The over all shape was important to me.

Old Emgo's are pretty close I think. They look a little taller then the ones on Screen but the shape is very close. has the extra lip thing. i hope to change out the foam with white foam so that it is not as noticeable. I found this model to look pretty good.

Emgo EM76-49551

Actual Goggles used

Some older goggles you can find on Ebay pretty cheap. My Emgos were less then $20 I believe.

Thanks Jeffrey.

Kathy has recommended the same that you have shown me.

If you have the same one, any idea if I can wear my glasses with the goggles on? Mind if you have the dimensions of the goggles (as the way I measured) so that I have an idea?

For the lens, you used the following to paste on the original lens (in your other thread)?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/12-Colors-12-x-48-Smoke-Headlight-Taillight-Fog-Light-Tint-Film-Vinyl-Wrap-/360629982750?var=630104451380&hash=item53f738d61e&vxp=mtr

Have found another one:

Replacement Lens:

Is this one ok too?

Andrew

I tried the Emgo's on over my glasses and it did not work. I do not plan on actually wearing mine over my eyes so I had never tried before.
I am building the hanger trooper.

I was lucky enough to find a pair of old swans that are very close to the ones used, so I had not put on the yellow film to see if it looks good or not.

I would go with something subtle. A lot of the films I have seen are dark and more opaque then older lenses from back then it seems. The lighter the better. You may have to try a couple, since things look different in hand compared to on your screen.

Some use the Smiths Cascade as well. I now have those, the Emgos, and the Swans. Razz always the way with building a costume some times. At least I can maybe match another members goggles if I am with them.

Thanks Jeffrey for your advice.

Well, I guess I've to stick to my original selections (i.e. not the EMGO), due to my glasses.

My only concern is that whether they can be approved....

I need to ask the judges if they'll consider these for the simple fact that they are designed for glasses wearers.

Thanks Charles.

There's no mention it's an OTG type?

I rarely wore the goggles over my glasses.

The costume is VERY hot as it is. The goggles made it even more so. 90% of the time, I left them on the top of my head.

Noted your good advice William.

Just prefer one that gives me the option.

If anyone has a spare goggles (that's approved) and designed for those who wear glasses, please share.

Thanks.

Hi Charles,

Please advise which ones can be approved out of the list I've included.

Also, is your recommended one approved?

i have an old pair of Emgos I found on Ebay and I can wear them with glasses, its not the most comfortable, but then that was kind of the point, to fit tightly. Sometimes I just take my glasses off. I wore a different set of goggles yesterday in a different costume and they re cheap airsoft goggles...but thats different.

on the Emgos, if you find a vintage pair, with just a bit of work you can make the interior vents look like the original swans, swap out the lenses, take off the big pad on the bottom of the goggle, etc. The first thing I did was to remove and replace the strap with heavy elastic.

this is half modified, i didnt get the bottom black rib cut off, this was literally the day after finishing the costume.

Thanks David. What lens did you use to replace the original one?

Just a different way to deal with clear lenses is to paint them with acrylic model paint. I did and I think it is ok as I don't ever wear them over my eyes, but I can see through them.
