Rex, what's up, brother?!
I haven't been here for a bit, so I didn't see your posts. I think I know what retired clone you were talking about. If he's the guy in a drawing with a couple Wookies, some one @ CT.NET has done that costume. I think he has some red Naboo Palace Guard parts too. Really cool costume to do.

I've been making decent progress on my clone build lately. I'll be done with my 327th by early October. I'll be trooping an event here in Erie the weekend before Halloween. Can't wait to be "done"!

Since I too needed a pauldron, I used the machines at my 1st Shift job to make my own. I can also hook anyone up that wants one.

This material (Kydex) has a great texture for painting unit colors.

Heyyy Tom!!

Good to see you here brother!!

Yeah, I like that "retired Arc" concept a lot! The pic just inspired the heck out of me. It's on my "projects to-do" list. Not has high on the list, but still on it! I think it would be alot of fun! And comfortable to wear!

You know what?! The guy that made it was at DCon!! I didn't see him, but I saw the pics on C.net!!! Aaaugh!! I would have loved to taken some pics of him!

I was in my Colonial Marine gear for the parade, went over and met Phyliss, talked to Thomas in his Imperial Knight gear, took pics of both, he came over and took pics of our Marines, I took a pic of a Scout Trooper in full camo that rocked hard, but somehow just missed most of the Clones at the parade...

'course my Marine buddies were hollering at me to get back... Rolling Eyes

That's cool you'll be finished w/ your 327th in time for Halloween!

I've an earlier goal. There's a GiJoe / Star Wars Show on Sept. 22nd, I want to make an appearance at. I got the armor from Slavefive, it's outstanding, just need to get the helmet and boots and holsters and pistols done...and of course, paint up this awesome pauldron I'm getting...
Cool

I just can't wait to finally troop around in Clone armor!!! It's been a looonnnnggggg time, with a couple "misdeals" in armor along the way.

We'll have to take pics of our outfits, and maybe someone can photoshop the two together in a cool background! Very Happy Very Happy

It's time for another 327th Star Corps Grunt to be added to the RL-ranks:

I finally finished my armour for theupcoming con this weekend here in Belgium, FACTS.

I've been working really hard on this project the last few months, with a lot of help from my girlfriend.

Here are some pics, please let me know what you think.

PS: I would like to thank a few board members here for giving me hint, explinations and showing me the way towards dealers and armor in general.
Some pics:

I know I have the belt upside down, that's fixed now Wink

What do you guys think?

Outstanding job, MJ!!!

Like I posted over @ CT.NET, very nice work on the weathering all around. You look great!

What method did you use for closing the shins/calves?
I was planning to eventually do the sliding door in the back, but for now I velcroed a shim on the inside seam.

I'm on my way. Soon there'll be one more 327th Star Corps clone in the RL ranks. I plan to be "done" in two weeks time.

Hey buddy,

Yeah I also initially planned to do the slide in thing. I started working on them and added the magnets and rails to slide the back plate in. But I couldn't get it to work. So I left them as they are and added velcro just for this weekends Con. After that I'll start working on them again. I'll figure it out some day Wink

Can'tb wait to see your armor finished mate!

I now have the armor for an EP 2 Clone Wars cartoon style ARC. It's raw and untrimmed, but in my possession. I have begun the path towards having armor.

I'll be doing a Rubies bucket because it looks well with the stylized CW ARC.

The goal is to have it match a fellow garrison member's ARC:

Bill,

I saw that pic in SW Insider. I'm really diggin' the toon style clones. There's a guy named John (screen name John) over @ CT.NET who has done a very nice toon ARC too.

What kit are you working with?

The kit is nothing special, got it from someone locally.

When OSCS finally gets their super-accurate kits done, I'll consider getting one for an EP 3 clone. But because the Cartoon styled ARC isn't 501st approved, and I'm doing this for the kids and fun, I went the cheapest, simplest route available.

I'll be working with Brent, the clone seen in the pic (the Insider pics were taken by me, but uncredited) to make a clone that closely resembles his. I'll try to make the pauldron and the kama in the same fashion.

It's not hyper-accurate, but was a huuuuuge hit when he wore it at Starfest. We're trying to get a squad of us in the area, with 3-4 blues and a red clone.

I now have virtually everything I need to make the minigun, thanks to scraps left from vaccing. So hopefully by the beginning of the year or so, I should have this completed. I hope. Cool

Awe man! You're building the minigun?! You'll have to post in-process pics here when you get rollin'.

Kid's love clones, especially Clone Wars clones. That would be too sweet to see a fire team of toon clones.

As far as kits go, I'm also waiting to see what SciFre comes up with. I have the OSCS bucket, belt, and elbows. They do very nice work. I don't know if I like the idea of a rubber ab section though...

I'm almost there, fellas. tk

On my checklist I still have to:

> Finish building knees - Just have to attach the straps and glue the magnets on.

> Finish building shoes - Need to finish gluing the vinyl on. I'm going to try to get this done today.

> Finish off the backplate with details - Basically put backing on the holes and slots.

> Drill ab holes

> Finish painting ammo boxes

> Build pauldron

> Attach bandolier and arm band

> Attach compad

> Weather armor and weapons

It's not more than a couple days (my days, anyway Sad ) of work. I'll continue to weather slowly all the way up to my first 501st troop (Erie Zoo Boo, 10/27).

A couple other things I'm gonna' do before then are:
> Trim material off the top/back of the thighs & behind knees
> Add magnets to face of bucket (just to be safe)
> Wire rheostat
> Add double slot details to chest plate

I just need to attach the kama clip today and do some more weathering and I'm good to go!
