Hi, I didn't realise I hadn't done a build thread here for my A New Hope Leia! I've had it a while but haven't worn it out much since I'm having too much fun with my Sabine costume and now my Jedi, but I'd love to get it back out. Part of the reason I don't wear it much anymore is also because I've lost a bit of weight and now my belt doesn't fit, also I've dyed my hair lighter and my clip on buns don't match Crying or Very sad I have one of the Arda wigs I've seen a few princess Leia's using but haven't styled it yet.

Here's my costume from a convention a year or two ago

I bought a strip of leather and cut the belt out using my old one as a template (just made it shorter). I've been using the leather dye you sponge on, but it seems this is as white as it's going to get (lost count of how many coats is on it). The belt with the plates is my old one for comparison. I'm planning on just taking the plates from my old belt and attaching to the new one.

When I've finished my belt and new wig do I submit new clearance photos?

Your wig looks great! Wanna do mine? Razz I stubbed the ponytails on my "Leia" and will be using separate hair clips for the buns - but I'm not so sure that was the best idea. Rolling Eyes

Thanks guys Razz

I just put the wig into ponytails and twisted them, pinning as I went. It wasn't easy, this was my second attempt and I suspect after a while I'll have to redo them =(

Tomorrow is my first outing in my new belt and new wig, will post a photo or two from the event hopefully =)

Photos from this weekends convention!! It was soo nice having a belt that fit! It was perfect! The wig was a different story, in some pictures it looks wonderful, in others I think it looks terrible, but maybe it's just me being too critical. Also, it was soo heavy!! I wore it all day from about 10am to 5pm and my head was absolutely killing me =( maybe this is one for short troops!

Yeah, the Arda wigs "Leia" is the worst for long troops. So heavy!

I didn't actually do the metal parts myself, in fact the member that posted just before you (PatchworkPirate) made my original belt!! I lost a bunch of weight and traced round the leather part making a smaller belt and cut the plates off the first belt and attached to the new one. So she'd be the one to ask Razz
