I haven't made that costume yet, but I think most people make the buckle and broach. I'd think it would be similar to what I did for the steel blue gown broach. I used super sculpy to make it. I'm pretty sure others have made the buckles and broach for the Musty costume with super sculpy.

There's a future member in my area starting this costume.
Are there any tips/tricks on making the pattern and the accessories?

Padawan's guide is where I got all my info, and my gown is on the fan made page for the sleepless nights gown.

I was pregnant with my daughter when I made the gown. I just made up my own pattern. If you are interested in talking more about it, you can PM me.

It looks good! Where'd you get your brooch/buckle?

I agree, it looks excellent. I am also curious where you got your brooch. If you made it you did an incredible job.

I'm almost finished with the Padme Ep. III Mustafar sleeveless costume. I'm having issues with the hair. I have "medium" length hair and I need extensions or somehting to make the Figure 8 buns and the long braid. Can anyone help or give me some advice???

If you want to make your own clip-on or pin-on piece, Sally’s Beauty Supply is a good place to look for inexpensive synthetic hair. They should have a good selection of colors, quality, and lengths to choose from. If you need to find a store near you, check sallybeauty.com

OK, this is WRT Padmé's Final Senate Appearance gown.

I've posted at the TFN boards (and Sunrider), but have a specific question I'd like some opinions on, specifically about the burnout/devore lace top layer of the skirt.

Here's an up-close pic from Padawan's Guide:
http://www.padawansguide.com/anarien/p8.jpg

Now, I've looked for the better part of a year to find something close enough to pass, but came to the conclusion that I'm going to need to do the burnout myself if I want it to be accurate. Then I found out I'm pregnant again, and from all I've read about the burnout chemicals, there's no way I'm tackling that for a while.

So, now I want to buy/make something that will be passable, i.e., in the "spirit" of the look rather than an exact replica, with the idea that somewhere down the road, I'll update that part, and just focus on making everything else up-to-par.

Here's some of my choices:
1. Pre-dyed, not quite right color-wise and not a velvet, but still very elegant lookin, IMO.
http://i23.ebayimg.com/08/i/001/22/44/a348_35.JPG

2. Similar idea as #1, but different colors.
http://i4.ebayimg.com/02/i/001/22/44/f0e6_35.JPG

3. From Dharma Trading...I'd have to dye it (and sew two scarves together), still, but I could do that in the washer, which doesn't scare me as much, chemical-wise. I'd probably dye it the magenta-ish shade, then silk paint on the darker purple in some areas to mimic the dual color effect. I'm looking mainly at the "Abstract" pattern, but not sold on it completely yet.

Any thoughts/comments/ideas? :~)

I like the scarves since you can dye them however you like and the original design to me looked like a bouquet, that is the one that I liked from Dharma, IMO. I am gathering materials for this one as well but I am not sold that the pattern on the cloak is embroidered. Amadalia

You know, now that you mention it...hmmm.

How would you approach the scroll pattern?

You can see from the above high rez pic no stitch lines and the fading toward the top. I would do a stencil and fabric paint or screenprinting ink. It does not look like burnout either.

You know, after your last post, I went back and looked at that same picture myself. I have to say I agree!

Now the interesting thing is the color; the up close shots seem to be a magenta-ish lavender, but from afar, it appears more silverish to me.

Very Happy

I think in order to avoid having to make a skirt with the panel-effect at my waist for the next several months, I'm going to attach the skirt for now to the smock-dress at a point up just under my chest, then cinch or gather a tiny bit under my belly but still in the -no-show zone to make it work. I guess I'll just use netting to give the skirt a bit of fullness.

Thanks for the insight! I can't wait to see yours!

(BTW, for the headpiece, I was thinking of asking the friend who did my blaster and my belt buckle for the battlemaiden to fashion a headpiece from aluminum...but am completely clueless on how to get it attached.)
