Can I confirm that the Boushh costume is a rebel legion costume? I'm not sure if it's considered a 'bad-guy" bounty hunter or a Leia Rebel legion approved costume.
Also if anyone has this costume, is the mask hard to breath in?
I'm trying to decide if this should be my next project. |

Yes, it is approved by the Rebel Legion as Princess Leia disguised as Boushh. 501st accepts it as Boushh only. But it's the same costume. _________________ Dowager Queen Delegation Leader 2015-2017

Don't know about the mask, but I know the costume is fairly hot. But those I know who have it seems to love their costume. _________________

Are there many Boush's about in the first place? I'm not seeing much mention here. My wife has always liked that outfit and I saw a mask for sale recently, so wondered. If the mask is a reasonable price, the rest of the outfit should go together nicely enough.
Reading the Boush guidelines now...

The main difference between the Rebel Legion and 501st requirements for the costume, is that we want to see a braid hanging out of the back of the costume, so as to represent to people that it's actually Leia in there and not the bounty hunter she stole the outfit off of. _________________

You'll find more Boushh information off of the RL forums. I'm currently working on my Boushh and have all the hard parts: helmet, bandolier, armor, and tanks. From everyone I've talked to it is a pretty decently difficult costume and a bit pricey especially if you go fully accurate and make all the soft parts out of pigskin suede and leather.
If you are serious about making a Boushh check out the following to find where all the Boushh's are hiding :
Boushh Builders Group (not very active but a ton of info):
http://thebbg.proboards.com/
The Dented Helmet:
http://www.thedentedhelmet.com/
Bounty Hunters Guild - 501st Detachment
http://thebhg.net//
As soon as I start digging into the costume more I'll be starting a WIP in a few places including the RL forums. |

Spaceballs One (Blair) has gone to plaid!
I don't know how many costumes you've made beyond the Solo ones, but you have the costuming bug for sure!
Do you have a list or just thinking about it list? I think I'm guilty of both. _________________ One mean, green-eyed fitch. |

Making costumes has become my zen/meditation place Being in front of a computer all day for work and sometimes working up to 70 hours a week has taken my sanity at times so I sew to take back my sanity.
Here's my costume list since you asked:
ESB Solo - Done
ANH Solo - In progress
Boushh - Gathering materials
Jyn Erso - Planning (need more pics )
Snowtrooper - I secretly want to do this but not sure it will happen |

Go for it! I think it's cooler (bad pun- sorry!) than the regular trooper.
We ought to start a thread just to see how many costumes and which ones, are in the works for everyone. (Cause anymore of this here, and we've officially hijacked this thread. And I don't want to do that.) _________________ One mean, green-eyed fitch. |

I'm a little late to answer your question but I have a WIP Boushh and I already have the helmet. I personally don't have too many difficulties breathing with the mask. Honestly, I find breathing more difficult due to the chest armor part (working on improving it right now).
My main concern witht the helmet :
- You can't see very well so if young kids come to you, you don't see them, be careful during cons
- People can't hear you, like at all ... You can hear them somewhat but not the other way around which can be bothering.
- It's hot, I can breath but it's still hot.
So I'm looking into :
- small fans
- a mike ^^ |

I am working on a Boushh for my wife and the helmet was difficult for me because I have seen it go for $450 which is way too much for my budget. I am doing the pepakura version and so far have spent $30 for cardstock (legal sized) and $40 for resin and bondo supplies. Be warned the pepakura files need to be upscaled by 150% at least to fit a human. here is my build site:

That's looking great. I looked at the pepakura version but found someone selling a helmet kit for a reasonable price because I don't think I'd have the patience for the pepakura I actually ran across your build page while doing my research, some great stuff in there. |

Just found out that a fellow named Korbanth does the entire suit out of appropriate materials. In USD, Helmet and armor, ~$700, bandolier ~$175, soft parts, ~$500 ballpark. That's all pre-finished, which seems like great prices.
I wouldn't have thought papercraft could do the job, but I suppose it very well could indeed! _________________ -Tom |

That's very interesting ! I only need the armor part, would he sell it on its own ?
Also one of my friends bought a helmet kit at 350€ from an English propmaker which seems fair.
The bbg is as good as dead so it's a little difficult to get the info...
I'm impressed by what people can do with pepakura ... I wouldn't have the patience ... great job ! |

I bought Todd's helmet kit over 2 years ago... and have yet to work up the motivation to actually start working on the costume. There's just so much to it! I'll need my boyfriend's help with the hard parts, and all that suede... egh.
But, I'm hoping I can start doing some serious research on it soon, and maybe get around to starting it this fall. I'd love to see an active Boushh thread on here, since the BBG is kind of dead. |
