I finally got my flak vest today and after waiting a long time...they sent the wrong size - a large instead of medium. They offered to send the right one but since I don't want to wait a long time again...

Judges - is this vest too big? I sinched it up in the back and it looks ok to me now but if you all day it looks to big...I will wait for the smaller one.

Thanks!

Chadd

The vest looks ok to me for size, but that flat part at the bottom needs to be hemmed up. You should only see ridges, not a flat spot. (This has been a problem with Claudio's vests lately.)

The vest could probably come down a little so it's not right up against the collar. (The straps could be a little longer so it sits a little lower.)

The chest box is also up a little too high. (once the vest is fixed) it needs to be lowered so that the bottom of the box sits a couple inches below the bottom of the vest.

Thanks! I just have the shoulders pinned up for the photo so I can let those out a little and a hem at the bottom is quick and easy. I just wanted to make sure the overall size of the flak vest was ok.

My Bad!
I originally posted that the vest should be 1 1/2 to 2 inches from the bottom of the collar. That was incorrect. (Sorry!, Brain fog)
About 1" from the bottom of the collar would be good.

Also note that the top and bottom of the front and back are about even with each other. The back does not start at the shoulder blades and end at the tail of the spine.

Rule of thumb: Bend your elbow so your forearm is parallel to the ground. No part of the vest should extend past your elbow, and to match "screen worn" stop at the top of your forearm. These are more like a "bib" as seen on the original RAF pressure suit they were copied from:

Note the elbows on the suit are where the three seams are, above the two white "belts" at the actual waistline.
