I'm not sure if to post this in here or in the Rebel Briefing section of our forum, but here it goes.
With the growing rumor that "Slave Leia" will be gradually discontinued, I'm wondering if there is an official word of our club regarding the costume, especially for members who are building one.
-Will they be approved?
-Will there be more restrictions on the troops that usually allow the costume? Or will the current restrictions will still apply? _________________ Dowager Queen Delegation Leader 2015-2017

I haven't heard anything handed down from the LAC or LFL, but I don't want to see the Slave Leia costume kicked out of the detachment or the Legion. I don't see any reason to have the costume removed at this time.
As always, costumers should be mindful of what events to wear and not wear the costume to, but that goes for all costumes that either bare a lot of skin or are very scary to little ones. _________________

I agree wholeheartedly with Jenna- usually, slave Leia isn't the best option for local family events. However, it is usually welcomed at Cons and some parades (such as the Dragon Con Parade.) There have even been some "adult only" events that my base and garrison have been invited to, where Slave Leia would be acceptable. I don't think Slave Leia would be a good option for a children's hospital visit or Star Wars Reads Day, just to name a few examples of local events. Sports events may be a maybe, depending on the event hosts.
It is a canon costume, just a lot more risque than most If you are ever unsure, it is always best to contact your base officers or event coordinators, they can always check with the host of the event. |
