Hey everyone,

My name is Andy and I'm a member of the 501st over with Garrison Cardia. I have a stormtrooper commander set of armor. I'm a 24 year old grad student and I work as a pizza delivery guy to pay the bills. I've been thinking about joining the Rebel Legion for some time. I started on an Endor trooper over a year ago but never finished it. Right now the costume I really want to do is Throne Room Luke Skywalker. Any advice or guidance would be hugely appreciated.

Hey Andy, welcome aboard! You'll find yourself in like company here. Certainly wherever you are in PA there always seems to be someone close that can give you advice. And I would highly suggest creating a work in progress thread (you've been through that I know, lol) and post it under the Luke Skywalker forum.

Hi Andy. As mark said a work in progress thread is helpful. I would log into the Jedi forum where a Luke section has loads of info. That is a great plus to start

Hi Andy,

Welcome to the forum. I agree that using the detachment info and WIP threads are very beneficial. If you want to finish your Endor Trooper, I know we have several members who have recently completed them successfully and I know we have at least 1 Ceremonial Luke in the bast that might be able to help with pointers as well. If you need anything please let us know.

So hey, it's been awhile since I posted about what I've been up to. I finished a generic jedi and am going to take submission photos soon. I'm not sure if my boots will be approved but I was talking to a member and he mentioned boots with inner zippers are allowed now. I also started working on a rebel pilot but that will be a slow build because of finances.

Boots w/inner zippers are fine as long as they're not like hot pink and scream "I"M HERE!!!" lol

LOVE your photo of the force grab!

Thanks, we had a great time goofing off and the force grab picture I think came out pretty solid. The boot zippers aren't overly ostentatious in my opinion and I'm hoping they'll be ok.

If you are doing Luke he should not need food caps, however if your doing a Generic Jedi

Welcome, Andy, to the Light Side! Hopefully we'll be welcoming you in as a formal member in short enough order.

Civilized Galactic Gear (http://civilizedgalacticgear.com/) is a top-notch source for food capsules and Jedi pouches, at least if you plan on doing an Old Republic / Generic Jedi. If budget is a concern for you, Jedi Robe of America (https://www.etsy.com/shop/JediRobeAmerica) has some pouches and capsules that will do in the short-term, but they really don't compare to Civilized Galactic Gear's quality and accuracy.

With regards to your boots, I can vouch that inner zippers are acceptable - I have these on my boots for my generic Jedi / Obi-wan Kenobi. Looking at what you have in the pictures above, I think the boots will be fine.

Thanks for the replies guys! I ordered myself some food capsules from the link you gave me Jared and picked up pouches from jedirobeamerica. So hopefully I'll have an approved Jedi very shortly.

I also just sold my TK with the goal of finishing my X-Wing Pilot. it's been a productive day.
