Hi all!
I created a Photoshop-File which will allow everyone aiming for a "Generic Jedi" to test different stiles and color-schemes before actually starting to sew. Not anyone is good at drawing, so here is a premade "Dress-up"-Jedi.
You'll need Photoshop to open the file, unfortunately I do not know how to program flash, so it is just PS. For those not familiar with the program I included a short tutorial how to use the file.
Please note that
a) this is just for testing your custome. I tried to keep all actual standarts ( http://www.rebellegion.com/jedi-costume-standards-generic/ ) in mind (October 2015) but might have missed something. Read the standarts on what is okay and ask the guys here before starting, they should know if it is okay!
b) while drawing I noticed, that I'm obviously not that good at drawing a straight line, so it turned out rather stylized. But again, this is just to get a basic idea of how your costume might look!
c) there is already a very good tutorial on possible color-schemes and fabric: http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=49614
Use it for selecting your colors!
c) this file does not cover all possibilitys. Look at the costumes of others to get ideas and get creative!
This is the file:
[Update: I included the folders as noted]
And this is how to use it:
And some examples:
I hope this is helpfull

If you get a chance you may want to group the layers into folders.
So all the pieces for each costume alternative are together, so one doesn't have to click each layer to see what it turns off and on and for easier viewing.
I did that my self when I downloaded your file.
Thank you for the file though, makes pre-planning easier. |

Thanks for the advice, I wasn't even aware, that there is an option for folders! I added them and it is much easier to navigate now. _________________

I'm glad I could help!
Though at high resolution I noticed how often I drew over the lines... args! _________________

It helped me out enormously...
If anyone needs help with their design or doesn't have photoshop I'm more than happy to try and help out ..
Send me the colors that you'd like to test out and I'll try and knock it up for you :-) |

Very well!
I volunteer, too if someone doesn't have Photoshop!
Or could someone convert it to gimp? I'm unfortunately a total newbie to gimp (just glad, that I can handle PS!) and have no idea how that works. _________________

This is great, Do you mind Bookworm if I make this available on the KJO Fan Page?
I'll link the post to this forum post.
p.s
I saved as xcf (gimp file) still trying to figure out how to edit it though.
I'll Post instructions as soon as I'm finished. _________________

Am I reading this correctly you can have a sidesplit in your cloak?
I thought that was only for the surcoat. _________________
