Hiya!

Great to meet up with a couple of you at Ozcomiccon Sydney. Thanks for being so enthusiastic about my Aayla cosplay. There is a lot of it I'd like to improve on (it's my first attempt at making costumes) but hopefully it will be enough to get me membership in the rebel legion.

Looking to expand my cosplay by doing Mara Jade next but Aayla is going to get more love first.

Hope to see some of you around for Pax and maybe some saber lessons Smile

Welcome! Glad to see you found us. Your Aayla was fantastic and it was a pleasure to meet you at Nova. I don't know that any costumer is ever fully happy or finished on a costume but for what it's worth you looked fantastic.

Look forward to seeing you around here and at future troops. Any help you need please let us know!

Welcome Meagan Very Happy

I couldn't be happier that you found your way here !

As Caroline said, you looked amazing and we will love having such a known Jedi trooping with us Wink

If you have a question, chances are there will be at least one of us that knows the answer and if not we will find one for you from further afield.

If you haven't already checked out the costume standards for Miss Secura,
I have included the link here...

http://www.rebellegion.com/aayla-secura/

Please let us know if there is anything that you need.

We have a really amazing event coming up at the start of December that you would be a big hit at. Hopefully we can have you approved by then.

Stay in touch Very Happy

Kind regards,

Shay.

Thanks that means a lot. Being a first attempt at sewing I was a tiny bit nervous (OK a lot). Of course now I'm addicted and already thinking of others I can make!

Will definitely get pictures up for approval next month at the latest since I'll be taking Aayla for Pax. How long does approval take? I'd love to be a part of any upcoming event and if it could take a bit for the approval I might be able to get a couple of pics before PAX to make sure I get through for December.

Anyone else here going down to PAX? Would be fun to meet up and I'll be bringing classic star wars trivial pursuit and a friend will bring Star Wars Armada Smile

Welcome abord Meagan,

You were rocking Aayla over the weekend.

That was our first attempt at sewing? I would not have guessed that.

Sewing confuses the hell out of me. Timber, plastic, worbla no problem what so ever.

Make yourself at home and ask questions.

Cheers
Joshua

Sounds like we need to exchange tutorials Joshua Wink

Sewing came easy (have an idiot proof machine helped a lot!) but timber and plastic I struggle with. As for worbla I just learned about it a couple weeks ago. Got a couple sheets to test it with and see how easy it is but it intimidates me for sure.

Worbla is great and super easy to use.

Do not throw out any off cuts because you can reheat and mold them for other things.

Looking forward to trying it out. No idea what I'll use it for yet as Mara Jade will need plastic but it looks quite fun to build with, especially the Black-Art version.

That is extremely encouraging. Practice makes perfect so I'll do some test runs before I get into the 'hard' stuff but I'm looking forward to doing more coplay making!

Welcome to our weird but wonderful family!

You looked great on the weekend. Looking forward to seeing your approval process and please ask away with questions etc. I'm a relative newbie and everyone from Tython and across the Legion was super helpful in helping me get my costume finished and approved.

Sair x

Thanks Sair! I don't have too many pictures of 'the making of' mostly cause I kept getting distracted with how the heck I was going to get the pieces together. Hopefully that doesn't hurt me in the approval process.

Hi Meagan.

Are you able to post a photo of your costume ? It will help us to help you and someone may spot something that others haven't.

It's always a nice insurance policy before submitting Very Happy

Makes a lot of sense. Would rather be able to fix stuff sooner rather than later Smile

And since you can't see the aprons well in those:

I see every single flaw in it and am already figuring out ways to improve it so don't feel bad to tell me certain things need to change for approval!
