All,
the run is now up to 14, which is a sensible limit if the goal is to have all boxes with their recipients in time for the 17th/18th December.
For those that have pre-paid, please keep an eye on the Status sheet for progress (https://www.dropbox.com/s/otkcg46w0m9e4ue/ORDER%20LIST%20AND%20STATUS.xlsx?dl=0)
If you are one of the latter entries and you feel it is getting too close to ship, NOTIFY ME and I will refund your payment.

I will continue to print everyone on the current list (start date middle next week earliest) unless otherwise instructed.

New requests can still be added, but the likelihood of receipt before mid December are slim to zero.
thanks for your understanding.

One person has already offered to move down the list, as they are not aiming to complete for EPVII launch.
If anyone else is not building to this deadline I am sure those that are would appreciate a similar gesture.

Cool

Print run started yesterday, I am keeping the list up to date, and the first two boxes should ship to the USA tomorrow.

I have added shipping cost information to the status sheet

As was to be expected, new pictures showing more detail are starting to emerge with the new teasers and tv spots.

I have been asked if i can add the 4 indents to the side of the model.

The answer is of course yes, BUT, are they on both sides, it would appear not unless they are not on all characters boxes?

From the perspective of printing it might not be the best move either; 3D printers do not like overhangs and cannot give crisp detail without printing a support matrix. For detail of this size i think the result would be messy at best.

So what to do?

DO NOT be tempted to carve or machine these into the box!
As per the description in the build instructions - 3D printed objects are mostly air. The internal matrix is a square section honey comb, with side walls approx 1mm thick.

My advice would be to paint these on, a simple and effective fix.

These things are bound to crop up... Not a big deal. Something to correct for the future, but still anxious to see them in person soon Smile

THOSE NEEDING HOSES: Mark Mulcaster started a thread for a group order, go see it.

As I always say, if they're looking that closely, they'd better be buying us dinner.

Can't wait to get mine!

If anybody wants to jump up the queue, and get free shipping to the USA (saving £10-£12) I have a box ready to go now that is not perfect.
It printed over night, but the nozzle started to block for the top couple of layers.

This means the usually striated surface is a little rougher than usual. Box is fully usable and strong. i would suggest a normal prime and then spreading a thin layer of bondo type glazing putty before sanding and painting.

Red box and buttons are as normal, only the grey part is a slight second.
Let me know ASAP.
