Hi,
so waiting for starting my purple travel dress I start another costume. While searching the fabric for the travel dress I found some tissus for the packing gown.

http://nsm08.casimages.com/img/2015/08/26//15082601082019523013533942.jpg

But What is the fabric used for embroidery patch?
Thanks for your advices
Amadalia

I'm not sure if anyone knows, but it's gray-ish: http://padawansguide.com/fidm/maggie/silver2_med.jpg

For padawan's guide links you have to copy and paste them into your navigation bar. The web site does not allow direct linking.

It looks to me like it is a partially transparent mesh that you sew the beads and trim into. You can see the color of the dark gray velvet behind it.

Yes, links to that site have to be copied or loaded twice to load.

Some sort of grey mesh or similar would be the best bet, I agree.

Hi ,
I start my costume so first I try to do the pattern. For this I've used 3 patterns I combined under my mannequin to obtain the final pattern.
So first the pattern of the iner dress.

and the final dress with the bodice:

I have a picture with the top of the sleeves . I has to handle a pattern who takes the road but on the mannequin we see nothing.
So now I have to start with the fabrics I choose.

Your shape on top looks pretty good so far! You may want fuller sleeves, but it is hard to tell with that fabric. What do others think about that?

You do want a fuller skirt though. I'd do at least 3x your waist measurement, if not more.

Thanks for your answer, for the sleeve I used the pattern symplicity 7096. I just do a little modification to be OK but with this fabric it's really complicate to see anything. When I start the sleeve in the right fabric I send a picture on the forum to have an opinion.

Looking good so far. Smile

I agree on the skirt needing to be bigger. And I too can't really tell what the sleeves will look like either from these images, so I look forward to seeing some more pictures of them.

That's looking lovely so far! One question: is your velvet vest black or dark gray?
