Here is the first idea I had for my x-wing helmet:
http://hyperblupanda.deviantart.com/art/Rebel-pilot-design-1-541307052

And the second idea:

Please give me feedback on my ideas! Note the aurebesh says "For Alderaan"

I like the second design personally. Im not sure if the targetted Stormtrooper would be approvable but Im not an expert on Helmet decals but posting that question and picture on the international forum under the pilots section would get you an almost instant answer Very Happy

The second design looks great!

Just a thought, I don't know how much you love that blue but Tython RLSC squadron colours are likely to end up similar to our base colours, purple and green like Tython itself. I'd love to see some designs in the squadron in base colours! Smile

So more green and purple rather than blue?

Your colours and design are completely personal and up to you, of course. However, below is the base logo and using those colours in your design would be really cool for a member of our pilot squadron. I got my helmet already painted, however I have certainly been thinking of getting a new bucket and I would certainly be using this colour scheme on my bucket! It would be nice if we could get a bit of base cohesion among our flight squadron.

It's completely up to you, of course. If you're really set on that blue, go for it! But as you're still in the planning stage, I just thought that at least considering the base colours would be an interesting look. Our base colours are striking and our logos are unique in the Legion.

Hi there ... a little x-wing said I should do a flyby to take a look and chime in.

Design #2 looks GREAT! That said though, I'd have to agree with Shay Kenobi that the targeted stormtrooper probably wouldn't pass review. Best to leave it off for your submission photos.

Hope to see it finished soon!

I tend to disagree with Fyr on the base cohesion for pilots. The beauty of the pilots in Star Wars is they all had their own differing helmets. That's one reason I love the X Wing. You can have your own helmet and paint it in a way you love. We don't all need to be similar in that respect.

I love my current helmet as it is and I'm about to order my second helmet for my snowspeeder pilot as well. It's going to be painted in a colour scheme I love and fell in love with as soon as I decided on it but in a colour scheme no where near our base logo colours. Actually about as far from them as you can get. The colours are the perfect compliment to a snowspeeder pilot though I think.

Choose a helmet design and colours you love and run with it. You'll find it much more rewarding and be prouder of the end result.

Also if you end up needing the metal parts for your pilot Mark from Hoth makes them locally from aluminum. His stuff is fantastic. Also a tip I had from one of the car part places in Rutherford. For the webbing for your harness if you want to get it cheap try the local wreckers. They legally can't sell seatbelts anymore so you can call around and many will let you take the belts out for free as long as you explain what you are doing with it ( be clear it's NOT going into another vehicle and is for a costume piece ). I was chasing the same for my Hera. I ended up buying it online but that was a tip I had passed onto me. Might be useful!

Actually he'd be the first pilot in the base to use base colours if he did. And I still think that it would look awesome.

I would go with what you feel is right.

Do not do in a direction that you are not 100% happy with because you will not wear it and not be motivated to finish it.

You can get pre-approval for your costume so that your membership activates on your 18th birthday. Until then you join the GA, Galactic academy, and troop with us anyway with a parent or guardian in tow. Ideally you get your parent or guardian into an approved RL costume as well... Wink

May we ask how old you are?
