I have gotten a few Endor costumes in the judging queue recently and they were starting to look like similar costumes and both of the most recent costume applications were denied.

Upon gathering information for another project, I went into the Costumebase website and found the origin of said denied costumes.

Please note that this is NOT a bashing of Costumebase. There are some items that they sell that are indeed useable and formal as made by them.

There are other pieces that simply do not meet standard.

Years ago Costumebase offered some Endor pieces that could be used but looking over what they are offering now, these pieces would not meet costume standards.

Here are some specifics....
This donut that they offer is not accurate. You will note that the details on the back of the donut are not there. There should be an indented portion on the back of the helmet. The soft helmet is not half bad though the pleated/ribbed portion leaves a lot to be desired. This donut does not meet standards:

Next the vest. The costume standard states capped sleeved vest. The vest sold by Costumebase does NOT have capped sleeves, they are just short sleeves. Also, the slash pockets on these vests come up way too high and the vest does not have the proper padded shoulder portion. This vest is NOT acceptable.

Lastly, you will note that the camo paints are not the right colors and appear to be applied to a white background fabric. Camo paints should be applied to tan cargo pants, tan snow jacket, or tan trenchcoat. White snow jackets and trenchcoats have to be dyed tan first.
These pieces are also not acceptable.

So, unfortunately, none of the Costume Base pieces would be acceptable for a formal Endor Commando.
