Hi, I thought it would be a good time to introduce myself. I had hoped to have my costume submitted already, but alas, 'twas not to be.

I'm working on my Rebel Briefing Room Leia. So far I have the boots, pants, shirt and vest completed.

I hope to finish the belt this weekend. I just need to sew the one side of the buckle in and sew in some snaps that will be hidden in back of the front pouch.

The blaster is my favorite part of the outfit since it was the most fun to work on. We printed the 3D pieces for Leia's ANH blaster and modified. I think it turned out pretty well.

My rank badge is completed, but I don't have a picture of it yet. Trying to decide if I want to attach a pin-back on it or go with magnets. I would hate to lose it, but I'm also leery of putting too many holes in my vest.

It seems that the acquisition of a wrist comm has fallen through, so I'm currently waiting for the "back-up plan" to arrive. Not sure how much work it will entail, but I'm hopeful I can work it out.

So, there it is. I hope I'm able to finish and get out there trooping with everyone soon! If not, I'll be the annoying person introducing myself to everyone at the Joliet Library Star Wars Day this year. I'll be hanging out with my 11 year old ARC Trooper. Cool

Looks good Smile

I used earth magnets on the rank badge. The same that they use for the legion name badges that hold through the plastic armor. I've never had a problem with it falling off.

Bob was working on them when I was over a few weeks back. The rubber stuff to make the bands is too old. He bought it for this project a few years back and it just sat too long. It's pretty expensive stuff. We tried to thin it out which was a very smelly project, but it came out of the mold all bubbly...

yeah...I have found that some of that molding/casting/latex stuff just does not have a long shelf life....

I had to make a cast of one of the greeblies for an Endor Commando to mail out....and...well...the mold was one of my older ones...and it just finally split.

Even just in the containers a lot of those supplies start getting funky...

and....look what I found in my stash...
I was almost certain I had one left...

one Swedish Snow jacket...
aka
what they used for Leia's poncho...
at least that is what I was told they used for her poncho...

obviously...they removed the buttons...
and I am not sure how they made the piece into a poncho...
remove the arms I guess...

I will have to look and see if there is any information on that.

I used one of those (cut down in length) for the hooded jacket of my Endor Commando (that I did not wear yesterday)...
I had to dye it tan first...
and then camo painted it...

Thanks Phyllis! I hope we can figure out how to convert it to a Leia poncho. Very kind of you to offer Smile

Submission photos have to be retaken, either tomorrow or Tuesday evening. My belt was way off. Mind you in every other photo from Saturday, it's fine. Figures! jeez I couldn't tell on the little screen on my camera. So I will tweak a couple things between now and then. It will happen. Soon! I believe, I believe, I believe.

Tried to submit my application this evening. Apparently I'm not computer compatible. "Required parameter missing". I swear I filled everything out! Bang Head I'll try again in the morning.

Thanks again for the warm welcome everyone!
