Was able to find the scene you referenced. There is definitely a seam in the back. That makes construction VERY easier.

Now I have to decide on a color. Am thinking taupe.

As long as it's a lighter taupe that should be fine. Taupe, biege, whatever.

Well, this is what I got, placed next to the pale natural colored undyed canvas I used for the Tusken wraps for comparison.

Those a very helpful, yes, thank you! Smile Appears we had the same thought process on the gaiters; I will say that your seams are far more neat than mine.

Where did you get all your buckles from, if you don't mind me asking?

Gaiters done! Well, except for the buckle. I tried to keep the horizontal strap true to the reference picture where it appeared to only be attached in the front and back.

I really wanted to shape the gaiters, as well, to make their "fit" better ... but all the reference pictures I can find, including those of the deleted scenes, show the gaiters as being straight cylinders. So, went with that.

Didn't get around to the hose today. I think I will shift that to the weekend. The flightsuit came in, however. So I did tinker with that, a bit.

And. Wouldn't be a build thread without something going sideways.

I ordered a Red Kap red coverall that would fit. And then ordered another, a size larger that I could have plenty of cloth to make pockets with. Well, the delivery came, and only the one larger suit was in there, a note included saying that the other was backordered. I contacted the company, and it was going to be way too late for the other to come in. Way too late for my target deadline, that is.

Slight panic. But! BWing Pilots do not back down!

I altered the suit I had to fit (or at least fit better), and then took the two patch pockets off the rump. They happened to be double layered pockets, so there appears to be enough fabric to make not only the front thigh pockets, but also their flaps.

It came with a pen-pocket on the left arm, so I was good there. It also came with a kinda weird tool-ruler pocket on the side leg. I removed that, too. There looks to be enough fabric maybe to expand the pen pocket on the arm if I need to. And push come to shove, I can remove the chest pockets to cannibalize yet more fabric if needed. I left them on for right now, however, since the flak vest will cover them. The collar looks to have the proper closure already, so don't need to fabricate it, I don't think.

I am still deciding if I am going to stitch closed the "open access" pockets on the sides.
