Hello Great Lakes Base! My name is Dan, I'm 30, and live in the Akron/Canton area of Ohio (Canal Fulton to be exact). I've been in props and costuming for almost my entire life. I have not done a full Star Wars costume for a very long time and am ready to get my Jedi on!

Prop/Costuming really started for me as a kid. I wasn't satisfied with the Rubies style costumes so I was always making my own with the help of my parents and grandparents. When I was about 13 years old my family was flying to Arizona. We picked up a copy of a Star Wars 20th Anniversary magazine and right inside the front cover was this fantastic picture of Boba Fett and the POTF2 action figures.

I took that picture and any other picture I could find of Boba and with the help of my dad made a costume from sheet tin, an old flight suit, and a Don Post helmet. I even had a firing rocket that I stole from my Terminator 2 car and mounted to a plastic soccer shin guard.

My brother and I started making hardware sabers around the same time. We found something online that would generate your Jedi name in 1996 and mine came out to be "Ledge Kados." I liked it, so I've stuck with it.

As time progressed I became more skilled in making prop and costume replicas. I've done everything from Ghostbusters to Stargate to Indy. I've always been fascinated with Star Wars props and have collected them off and on over the years.

I'm looking for anyone in my area who would want to maybe get together for some saber sparring and to work on our gear. I currently own all of JM's 501st approved original clone molds (armor and helmets), so I'm more than happy to help others who are interested in that as well.

I really would like to develop my own custom Jedi costume (I posted a WIP in the Jedi area) of either a Rebellion Era Jedi or a Grey Jedi. I can't wait to meet and troop with you all!

-Dan aka Ledge Kados
