As far as boots...

The costume standard says:

b. No visible laces or outside zippers. When necessary, inside zippers are permitted.

Zippers on the outside of the boots are not allowed..but boots can have zippers on the inside...

Work boots are ok...as long as they are tall enough and have no laces and don't actually look like work boots...some add "gaiters" or "spats" to their boots....like Obi-Wan and Anakin

I should have specified pull on work boots. .......thank you Phyllis.

The websites I list sometimes have old Eastern Europe army surplus "jack boots " for sale that can work......though they tend to in black so care will be needed in matching with your belt.

And if you need more input on lightsabers. ......feel free to PM me.

Thanks for the clarification! Stupid me thought the zippers had to be on the actual inside of the boot, which makes no sense as you would still see the zipper, etc. (sorry, brain is fried as its been a long holiday season!) I went ahead and ordered a pair. As for the light saber, the Kit Fisto Force FX one arrived. Wow! Very nice. I just have to be careful when I play with, er, I mean, test it, that I don't hit the blade on anything.

Now just waiting for things to arrive...thanks to all for your help and input! Mr. Green Mr. Green

Belt and boots have arrived...Thoughts? Ready for approval?

The outfit is definitely NOT slimming...may need to wear something tight underneath.

I do have four food capsules...they were on my left side, so hard to see in these photos...

Looks good...love the colors!

I am a lover of the earth tones when it comes to Jedi costumes...

How comfy are the boots?

Since I really can't see the costume full on from the front in the photos, one thing that I do notice (I was a Jedi judge for many years) is that the tabards are supposed to go to at least the hem of the outer tunic in the front. Can you bring the tabards down farther in the front of the costume?

yes...
you need two...
I can see one...but was not sure if the other was hidden on the other side...
BUT
you only need two if you are counting the pouches as one of your "optional items"...

As near as I can see from the photos (again..with out a full front and full back I can't be sure)

the 3 optional items for this are the food capsules that are currently hidden, the inner tunic and the robe.

Thanks! Boots are very comfy. I should be able to move the tabards down easily in the front. I need to put some holes in the belt to tighten it up a little.
.I also need to stop eating donuts...;-)

I do have a second pouch, but it kept falling off. I need to find a better clip for it. I also am looking for a shirt I can use for an inner tunic. I am thinking an oriental or Nehru style collar would work?

Thanks to everyone for their input and help!

Awesome...
I did see your costume application in the judging queue...

sorry that I have been super busy this week...
if there is a problem with the undertunic...
I can make you a "cheater" undertunic...but it might take a few weeks...

Thanks! The white inner tunic I have in the photos is light and comfy, so hopefully it is ok. Much more comfy than the t shirt I was wearing in keeping the itchy wool at bay.

I have an old maroon turtleneck I may alter and also use..I think a maroon inner would look really nice with the other two colors...
