Hmmm...doesnt look like an APH or even SPH series helmet, but it seems to have the lockknobs on both ramshorns for the glaresheild.
The ribbing on the vest looks similar to that from the fundraiser trailer from this summer.
I like the look of the stencilling, which would be found on real gear.

It will be interesting as we get more shots of this costume. And total party over the X-wings getting the coolest part of the teaser Very Happy I was happier to see X-wings flying low than I was to see the Falcon, lol. Only thing missing was one of them firing into the water :p

The trailer is awesome but I'm really not digging the new X-wing pilot... It looks like a poorly constructed fan-made ANH X-wing pilot costume with a helmet that's two sizes too small. But maybe I'll like it more when I can see the full otufit.

Also, it's interesting that they kept some of the original logos, like the "sliced onion" graphic on the helmet.

im digging the helmet more now I've seen the trailer, the flight vest does look more padded, would be nice to see more of the chest box.
But I'm loving the stencilling on it :-)
Very exciting

The helmet looks small the way modern HGU helmets appear smaller than vintage AP and SP series .

I want to see more of the vest.im a sucker for stencils....decals have always been the most enjoyable part of modelbuilding for me.

The aurebesh on the vest appears to read "PULL TO INFLATE."

Cute.

Perhaps a Draxtar helmet?

Are there any image banks of the costumes anywhere?

the X wings over water reminds me of this art from the 90s

this is the image from last spring, and i know we discussed this image at that time, with a "wait and see" attitude, which is correct.

Im not going to go out and say its the same type of helmet, but it"MIGHT" be.

Certainly a different paint job. I cant make out too many details on the vest but it seems to be consistent with what we see in the video:

dark blob on the pilot in the Abrams video, upper left chest corresponds to the Rebel Bird in the same location on the teaser pilot. The vest on the teaser pilot also seems to be two different parts, with a ribbed portion covered by what looks like an upper part. Perhaps a ribbed under=vest covered by the "floatation vest"

The formation in flight reminded me of shots of the Blue Angels skimming San Francisco Bay.

So pretty. So very pretty.

The helmet in the Abrams video definitely looks like the same helmet to me. Different colors, of course, but the helmet looks like the same. Same shape and everything.

One thing I'm really curious about is if those brown boots from that picture will be what the pilots in the movie wear if it that was a "I'll just toss these on, no one is going to care for this clip" kind of a detail, like the leg flares that weren't fastened down and seem to be sliding around the leg...

I'm really hoping that those aren't the official pilot boots. I don't know why but something about them just doesn't sit well with the rest of the outfit. They look a little too casual... But maybe that's just me. Razz
