The helmet was moulded from a APH-6, it is believed that it was size "Large"
It is not a perfect sphere or even oblong shape, so just knowing the width and height won't be enough to sculpt the shape from scratch. I once tried to sculpt the visor and mohawk on top of a motorcycle helmet and that just looked wrong.

Anyway, if all you are doing it scaling up a model for pepakura or similar: The width in the widest place should be 10-11 inches.

There are also lots of details. For instance, the original helmet's edge trim was not removed before it was moulded, so there is a lip on the front/bottom edge and an even thicker lip in the neck (from a different type of trim). The helmets in the movies then got a square-profile rubber trim attached to this lip. The mohawk is trapozeoidal in cross-section. The underside of the rams horns are sloping, and those are often different on different replicas. The top of the mohawk strip is no more than 2" wide - and several replicas get this too wide.
A great resource for pictures of an original helmet is starwarshelmets.com.
