The helmet

Had to get some work done to fix the helmet but ended up with this. (Thanks NME Props!)

IMAG1286 by roguerebels, on Flickr

I knew the paint job would be important so I was very careful in selecting the colors because I knew that would make the difference. At the time a lot of the pics people were putting up were very pink. From the pics I knew the look was wrong. She is definitely more of a fuschia or purplish. I didn't want to end up with an Easter Sabine! She is bold!

Thanks to some help from KW Designs we modified the RF to drop WITHOUT the outer piece moving as seen in the Look ahead trailer.

Armor painting

The rest of the armor wasn't as intricate with the exception of the shoulder and chest designs.

Also my first shoulders were too flat so a more curved upgrade was needed.

From start, I would like express how I am impressed your costume build, really amazing! Smile

Regarding your proposal standard for this costume - I personally would suggest:

1. Upgrade standard regarding helmet rangefinder. Lot of people using general rangefinder which is part of "owl", or "sabine" helmet kits from different vendors, but this is not accurate, because Sabine rangefinder looks different than rangefinders in The Clone Wars - as seen on reference pictures Wink

2. Upgrade standard regarding blasters - yes, Sabine using Westar blasters, but when you check references you see that it is not same as Westar-35 from The Clone Wars - front two (2 on each side of blaster) characteristic "vents" are not present on Sabine blasters.

And I personally would move"wig"and "comlink"requirement to REQUIRED ITEMS section Wink

Thank you very much for all your work! Smile

Thanks for the suggestions.

1. Regarding the Rangefinder You are correct. The RF is shaped a little flatter like Boba or Rex's RF. Those still aren't exactly correct so I'm in the process of getting one custom made for this helmet.

2. Regarding the blasters I disagree. They are clearly the same blaster. You are correct the vents are not there where they are in the Clone Wars references, however if you check you will see that each blaster has the vents in 2 different places. The right blaster (yellow) Has the vents higher on each side and the left (blue) has the vents on the top of the blaster. In Dave Filoni's blog he says that she uses "... the exact same model as seen in Clone Wars." It's more likely she customized the blasters herself.

Regarding the wig I think if you leave the helmet on you won't necessarily need the wig. I just thought the helmet was definitely a Required item. It's a huge part of the costume.

Regarding the comlink it is in some of the references but it isn't in all of them. Also it's not really necessary to make this costume unique. A lot of characters use comlinks and they aren't required for them so why would this character be any different.

Thanks for the input!

One interesting thought might be to make one of the two required.

Either the wig OR the helmet

I wish we had more episodes to know just how detrimental that helmet will be.
But even just to carry it around is super cute. Really in the scheme of things the wig should be one of the easier parts to attain?..so maybe just move it to required or specify that helmet should not be removed if you don't have the wig?Smile

Mine point was, that at least two big front vents should not be preset on blasters Smile ... for example here front of blasters are clean Smile

This should not bring too much pain to costumers, and will make their builds more accurate Smile

Hmm ... that could be a way Smile but in real life I cannot imagine, that somebody can be whole event in helmet without putting helmet off from head Very Happy

Yes! I thought the same thing as you (cause I'm always bucket less character costume wise) but then I thought about the mando mercs and TKs etc who leave their buckets on the entire time.

Nice build!

If it helps the debate any, I posted a proposed Sabine checklist over in the costume standards thread: http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=703593#703593 This is our Sabine standard for the Mandalorian Mercs, just in the RL format. Smile

Also, like Mara Jade and other characters, we should probably keep the contacts as an option and not a requirement. Some people are physically unable to wear contacts.
