I bought this helmet kit a LONG time ago - back before Richie offered greeblies with it. At the time I made greeblies myself using whatever I had to hand to match photos of the screen-used helmet.

I also painted this up to match Grey Leader using reference photos - although my Photobucket account is gone now (I think), I used to have a lot of reference pics in my Msbillen account (I discovered the history of the RFB chin sticker).

Moved house last year and have only really now got to setting up my new collection room so thought I snap a few pics as I have recently "rediscovered" my love of the OT.

Always liked that helmet, even if Richie's mold has problems, it was a great first attempt.

Thanks for sharing!

Ah, so you're the one that had the Msbillen gallery. I used to use that gallery fairly often. Before it, y'know, disappeared. Razz

The helmet came out great, though. Yeah, the Richies helmet isn't entirely accurate, but when a helmet turns out looking that awesome, I can look past the mold inaccuracies. Very Happy

Yeah, the shape of the helmet is not spectacularly accurate, but at the time it was the ONLY one on the market (I believe even today there is only one other available besides the RA).

Yeah, Photobucket changed - their "improvements" meant that it became almost impossible to find your pictures once you uploaded them without having to search through EVERY picture in your account. Because of that I no longer use Photobucket. And I'm on probably my 3rd laptop since putting that gallery together, so I don't have the pics any more either.

Nice bucket!

I was wondering if you knew who the other maker was? I'm in the market for a Y-Wing kit and I've got all the greeblies, just no helmet.

Thanks in advance!

*EDIT* Nevermind. I'll be contacting Dex shortly.

"RA" is Richies Armor. It's not an extremely accurate helmet mold but it's not bad, and it's the only one readily available. There has been another person who has made and cast the helmet, I can't remember what his username is, but I don't think that he does runs very often and the helmets are very expensive... But they're also much more accurate than the Rubies helmet.

<EDITED by Hazard3 - Replaced "Rubies with "Richies." The "R" in RA stands for Richies Armor. Rubies only made cheap X-wing helmets.>

You want Dex's helmet. It's the one I have. Here's his post :

Ah, Dex! That's it! How could I not remember such a simple username?
