Cheers Todd Wink

Just a quick one for our judges...if i´d go for the screen accurate white front bib on the vest (i would have to remove the ribs, add some padding inside and would have to give it the propper pattern) will the vest still be approvable even if it is not complying 100% with the standards?
I know, there is the vest agreement cause you see more than one overall vest pattern on the screen caps...but is it the same with the white front section?

Just asking before i put more work in it which i might have to change then again to comply...

What do you guys think?

BTW, I CADed the round bit for the vest last night, so that should be done shortly...

i look forward to you comments...

cheers, michael

Nice helmet. Smile

As for your vest question, I'm not entirely sure what you're asking. Are you asking if the front white "bib" is required or if the vest will be accepted without it? If so, no, the "bib" is required. The vest will need it to be accepted.

Also, while the square version of the back panel is currently acceptable, technically it's not really accurate. When you see an A-wing pilot with that squared back panel, what you're actually seeing is a B-wing pilot flak vest on an A-wing pilot. The A-wing pilot vest has the full, T-shirt-like back panel. Either version is currently acceptable, but just mentioning it... Smile

...oh you got me wrong...the white bit is required, I know that and I won't remove it...but the standard calls for three ribs on the white part of the vest one at the top and two at the bottom...the "new" hi res photos (as shown in the "eureka" thread for example) show no ribs what so ever on the white bit...so if I'd go for no ribs would that be ok?

It does sort of have ribs... Though I guess it's more of pleating or something. But yeah, as long as you try to replicate the pleating/ribbing/whatever in the Costumes book picture you should be fine. If you just have a flat bib with no kind of pleating, ribs or what have you, you'll probably be asked to add them. But if you try to make it look like the picture you should be fine. Smile

I like the overall costume. However, the vest is not black. It may be my monitor, but the vest is gray or charcoal gray. That being said, the helmet paint job is great. Nice job on that. I am interested in the color of the suit. What exactly is it. It seems lighter than the colors I've seen and seems fairly close to the movie. The colors I've seen are olive to dark dark green.
