I finally decided I wanted to start my ultimate dream costume: Leia Bespin.
It is such an elegant design en I love the colours. The embroidery scared me for a long long time but I decided that in the end all the hard work will be worth it.
I am currently drawing the pattern in a small scale and I am hoping one of my computer tech savvy friends can help me create a digital version of it in the end (which I of course want to make available online when I am done)
I have read all the topics on the forum, clicked on every link available. But I still have a question.
What kind of fabric should I use for the reddish tunic and pants?
I am terribly sorry if I missed that information in one of the other topics. _________________ Don't hang up your dancing slippers |

Hey there Puck great choice for a costume, it is simply beautiful (one of my favorites also.)
I have read that silk twill is a good option to use for the tunic and pants.
Good luck, I am sure you will do a beautiful job! |

Thanks so much Liz!
Now I just need to find the Dutch name for this fabric, but I am sure this will already help me a lot. _________________ Don't hang up your dancing slippers |

I have a question about the tunic. I found this fabric (which is for some reason more red in the picture than in real life. In person it is much closer to maroon)
According to the standards it is a:
Burgundy or maroon-colored tunic in a non-shiny fabric that falls to mid-thigh. Fitted sleeves end in rounded point just past the wrist. Neckline and wrists have copper metallic trim.
But I am not so sure what I need to do for the metallic trim? Could someone please give me some advice on that?
I know this is probably some super easy thing to do and that this is a stupid question, but I am just a bit confused about it. _________________ Don't hang up your dancing slippers |

I would try something like this metallic cording:

I have seen this cording used on this costume before. I'm not sure if this is the correct size though, I can't remember if we bought the 12, 16, or 32 size. |

Nice. Can't wait to see your Cloud City Leia, Puck.
I'll even let you borrow my Ewok Village costume if I can borrow this.
Good luck! _________________
